Topic: Upgrading Cold War to Series X

Hey, I have the digital version of Call of Duty Cold War; and supposedly you can upgrade for £5 to the Series X version. However in the store the upgrade is the usual £65. Anyone else have this issue? I have refreshed and restarted my Xbox etc and nothing has changed.

It’s annoying as smart delivery works fine, but one company wants to charge for the upgrade and that’s the one that doesn’t work.

@K1LLEGAL Did you buy the Digital Cross Gen Bundle for $70 or just the standard digital release? If you bought the Cross Gen then you get the Xbox Series X version as well as the Xbox One. It's explained right here

To be honest the Series X will play the Xbox One version the only difference is loading times and and graphical improvements. However if you play MP and are playing the Series X version but are grouped with Xbox One or PS4 users then you will have the same loadtimes and graphics as they do. With not many people owning a Series X or S for that matter right now you might not get any use of the Series X version if all you play is multiplayer.

Anyway hope that link explains it all.

@Tasuki thanks for the response. I didnt’t get the cross gen no. There was a deal for the standard Xbox One edition, and I got that with the assumption I could upgrade. I think it may be temporarily disabled but I seem to be the only person on the internet asking about this.

And true yea it’s not a massive deal but since I have a Series X may as well make the most of it!

@K1LLEGAL Yeah only if you get the Cross Gen Bundle can you upgrade. If you got the standard edition then it's just the One version and you will have to purchase the Series X version for series X. But as I said depending on what you play mostly it may not matter. For Multiplayer even if you have the Series X version but are grouped with Xbox One/PS4 players you will be playing the Xbox One version.
