Just finished Observation before it disappeared off Game Pass and wow, it was worth it. If you are in any way into sci-fi you should definitely play this one.

@WCB Got this downloaded and ready to go. Didn't have time to get to it at the weekend, but hopefully will get a chance to play before it leaves Game Pass. I've played so much stuff that I wouldn't have otherwise in the last 6 months just because it happens to be leaving Game Pass.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I just finished the Ninth Sister boss battle, and I am loving this game so far. I didn’t know it was a ”Souls-like” when going in, so that was a fun surprise
I'm not playing The Medium on a Series X/S, but the game is only available there in terms of Xbox consoles, so I'm going to write my thoughts about it here even if I'm playing it through Cloud Gaming.
So I've been playing the game for a couple of hours and it's excellent. You can feel the Bloober Team DNA in the game and it's a step-up in terms of every aspect. The only thing that I wish the game did more of is remind you of its mechanics. In the game there's a mechanic where you inspect things and this is mostly used to follow somebody's trail. You can also use it when inspecting objects, however it's not used much in this regard. For one puzzle though, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to do because I forgot that you could inspect objects and the last time you even needed to use it like that was at the very start of the game. I just wish the game would sometimes remind you that you can do this or that because if it's not used that much in the game, it's more likely that you're going to forget about it.
Doesn't help either that it gives you advice after you die that doesn't even help you and it ends up misleading you. The game told me that I can hold down a certain button in order to get past an obstacle. This is normally the case with that button, but for the section that I was at you weren't suppose to use it like that. Yet the game still told me that I should do it!
It sounds like minor things on paper but it does affect the pacing of the game. I was stuck in the room with a puzzle for like 20-30 minutes because I forgot you could inspect things. And I kept dying over and over because the game gave me the right advice at the wrong time. The reason why I'm even bringing this up is because I recently played Shadow of the Tomb Raider and that game reminds you every so often throughout the entire playthrough of its mechanics. This is flexible game design in my opinion, you shouldn't have to tell someone only one time how the game works and then expect them to remember everything from start to finish.
Anyway, it sounds like I'm making a big deal out of it but it's only a minor gripe since it could be fixed so easily for a smoother experience. The rest of the game has been absolutely phenomenal thus far and I can't wait to play more soon.
Played a bit of Night in the Woods as there was a rewards quest and was on my Play Later list. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The story seems to be taking a while to get going and nothing really happens in the first chapter although there have been a couple of hints that something sinister happened involving the main character in the past. I'm in two minds whether to continue with this one - the characters are well written and capture that teen awkwardness perfectly, but there's nothing story-wise that's compelling me to play further at this point. Maybe needs another hour or so to see where - if anywhere - its going before I decide.
Next up was Maneater which looked like a bit of mindless fun, but really didn't enjoy it at all. Played through the prologue section and a bit of the first area and the 'combat' was already getting pretty repetitive and the controls were a bit awkward. The narrator and cut scenes were pretty funny - in the style of a parody of shows like Deadliest Catch where it follows a shark hunter. Interesting Idea for a game, but not for me I'm afraid.
Spent a bit of time with MS Flight Sim too. First time I'd played it and it looks great. Played through enough of the tutorials to be able to take off and land before flying from my local airport and crashing into my neighbours house! I feel like this would control great with a flight stick or joystick, but I just can't get the precise movement needed with a regular controller and I think the experience suffers a bit because of this. I doubt I'll spend much more time than I already have on this though; going through the tutorials was interesting more than fun I'd say and I probably should've done some of the navigation tutorials before actually flying solo, but I think this falls into the category of impressive tech demo rather than a game for me.
Finally, Cyber Shadow. Thoroughly enjoying what I've played of this retro-styled 2D platformer so far. Originally had this on my Switch wish list after it was announced, so was happy to see it included in Game Pass. Simple, but tight controls and the music is great too. Played until just after the first boss, so not too far into the game. The difficulty doesn't seen too bad so far - the genre has some punishingly difficult examples - but I'm expecting it to get a bit tougher as I progress.
Was in a FPS mood so I decided to pick up Far Cry 5 during the last sale. So far I am enjoying it as the Far Cry series is hit and miss for me. I loved Blood Dragon and Primal but didn't like the other games in the series. I have only managed to liberate the first area and am deciding to where to go next.
As.for co-op my son and I started up a new game of Borderlands 2. Still enjoyable to this day.

I haven't posted in here for a while, been a bit busy trophy hunting like crazy on PS5 (now just chilling playing GoT) and playing the Switch more these last few months.
But this last week I have been trying to clean up all the Blair Witch achievements before it disappears off Game Pass. I was doing my second playthrough tonight, the pacifist run + good ending, and everything was going well until the end when I realised I shouldn't have broke any of the totems. So locked out of the good ending. Bummer. With only one achievement left and not wanting to do another run tonight I decided to pick it up for half price on sale and finish it off another day.
I did finish Last Stop a few days ago. I was just playing a chapter a day, mainly for the 50 rewards points you get for an achievement every day. It was merely okay. I'd say do it for the easy gamerscore or leave it until another monthly 10000pt challenge pops up.
I have started code vein last night. I never played soulslike games (the closest would be darksiders 3 or hollow knight). So far it has been ok but let's see if I stick with it to the end...
Still going on with code vein and after some hard time at start getting used to its mechanics I am enjoying quite a bit now. The first really hard boss kicked my arse hard for quite some time but as I leveled up and upgraded my gear quite a bit everything for the past few hours have been fairly manageable (including two more bosses)
Lately, I have been playing Gears of War for the first time. 1, 2, 3 and Judgement this far, on Series X. I believe that they are the most enjoyable shooters since Rare's Golden Eye 007, the latter is more stealthy, obviously. They have some Resident Evil vibes, brilliant campaigns and good scripts except Judgement (from People can Fly) that has an absolutely plain script and the gameplay is very Resident Evil The Mercenaries.
Last weekend, State of Decay 2. I have tried State of Decay 1 but gave it up. It's amazing how much SoD 2 has been improved and expanded since launch and it runs like a dream on Series X. This zombie apocalypse simulator-builder game is better than ever now.
Today, one hour into Night In the Woods, it seems like one of those boring internet forum conversations to me. The only surprise was the Guitar Hero events but with a controller it's kind of clunky. I don't know if the game will get more interesting, it doesn't seem so.
