Hi, hello. First of all, i'm Sakisa, not much of a forum poster but i've browsed and commented in topics on both Pure Xbox as well as both other sister sites PushSquare and Nintendo Life for a number of years now, and maybe only me, but how often has it happened that you play a Gamepass game, you kinda teak a break maybe...a modicum longer than you expected, only for it to happen that the game you like and planned to get back to a number of times is leaving Gamepass, and you buy it quickly before the slight discount is up?

Sometimes. It depends how much I liked the game and if I want to finish it. Last game I can remember doing that with is Hades.

@Sakisa Depends on the game and whether or not I am likely to want to keep playing once its no longer available. If for example, I am really enjoying a game and want to 'finish/replay/keep playing' then it makes sense to take advantage of the Game Pass discount - which can be up to 20% - not 'insignificant/slight' in my opinion...

It's a case by case basis - some I won't buy - either because I tried and wasn't really engaged, finished everything I wanted to finish and/or unlikely to want to ever play again (at least in the 'near' future). With 'new' games coming every month, I don't ever feel 'pressured' to buy and only 'buy' if it makes sense to me to purchase.

I already have a 'massive' Library of games I own in my backlog - many I still haven't started, let alone played so I never feel I 'need' to buy because something is about to leave a Sub Service. If its a game I wanted to play but never got round to, I'd look at the price, compare it to 'Physical' copies and/or decide whether the price is 'right' for me...

I appreciate the choice and option to buy at a discount - whether I choose to buy or not...

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

Nah. If I'm BUYING a game, I either grab it at launch or wait for the price to fully depreciate. This sort of thing is why I wouldn't risk starting a game I knew I couldn't finish before it left Game Pass.

It's only happened once to me where I didn't quite finish a game in time before it left game pass and that was Greedfall.

I didn't actually use the "Game Pass Deal" because they are normally a bit rubbish and only like 10-25% off.

I just waited a couple of weeks and Greedfall ended up in a much better sale with much more money off.

I wouldn't bother with the so called Game Pass deals tbh. If a game is on there, just keep an eye on its price in different sales on the Xbox store and then when it leaves the service, you'll know roughly how much it will cost again when discounted in a better sale down the line.

See ya!

No, if i havent played it in the year its on the sub, then i cant have been that bothered about it in the end. So see no point buying it at usually not a great price.

It depends on the game. I bought Celeste, Hades, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Will probably end up buying Far Cry 5. Will absolutely never buy Back 4 Blood. That's why I love Game Pass. I get to try the full game to see if it's worth my time and money.

Between Gamepass and Gamefly I rarely pay full price for a game. I usually use either those two to try the game and then purchase it if I like it or haven't finished it buy the time it's about to leave Gamepass.

I just recently bought MK 11, played it on Gamepass, enjoyed it found a copy of Ultimate MK 11 at a game store for cheap and bought it.
