Thought it might be good to have a counterpart to the 360/one threads.
What original Xbox game are you playing? Either through B/C or on original hardware? Feel free to throw in remasters too if it pads this thread out!
I'm currently playing Star wars Battlefront as it was on GwG a while back. Just finished the prequel campaign. The game is OK, became a bit hard 2/3rds of the way through so I lowered the difficulty because I was losing interest on my 5th retry! Will probably get on to the original era campaign tomorrow
Burnout 3, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 and Pro Evolution Soccer 5 right now, all via Xbox 360 backwards compatibility. I'd love to see the first two enhanced for Xbox Series X eventually.
I managed to find an OG Xbox with all the cables in a charity shop about a month ago. Cleaned it up and it works fine. Have it plugged into an old CRT tv next to my PS2 and GameCube (let’s party like it’s 2003!). The only game I’ve played on it is Project Gotham Racing so far.
‘You swapped three different N64 games for Pokemon Stadium? Where’s your pride? Your dignity?!?
@Gamecuber such a great console generation that was i kind miss it honestly so many great games and none of the crap that plagues the modern systems

@FraserG I loved THPS4! I played it so much on my GameCube. It's easily the best one along side THPS2.
I was planning on buying an original Xbox and THPS2X from America when I go this summer but I suspect that plan will be nixed by the current pandemic. That was always an enhanced version I was gutted we didn't get in the UK.
@FullbringIchigo just out of interest, what in particular don’t you like about modern systems? For me paid for DLC and online unpleasantness is a pain (I am very selective with the former and avoid the later like the plague!)
I on the other hand, games on hard drives, cloud saves between systems, online stores and Gamepass are excellent!

@Gamecuber DLC, microtransactions, day one updates, broken buggy games those kind of things

@FullbringIchigo I avoid day one gaming for that very reason (plus I’m not paying through the nose for something I can get for a fraction of the price later on).

@KratosMD That's was one reason I enjoyed Mafia alot more then GTA was the realism. That you couldn't just blow through redlights, you had to stop and put gas in the car etc. I was disappointed that Mafia III took that stuff out.

The recent remake of Panzer Dragoon inspired me to replay Orta last night. Beautiful game. It is incredible on the One X. Got to level 6. Going to pick it back up tonight.
It's been a while since this thread has seen any life!
Started GTA III on 360 (with an original Xbox copy of the game) and it's crazy how great it feels to play it on the system. I originally played some of it on an original Xbox but I didn't like using the controller anymore, not to mention that the game looked washed out on the TV screen. However, it looks and plays great on 360 through BC. It's actually my first time using BC on 360 and I'm surprised at how good it is. The only issue I had was getting the game to be in wide screen, but I fixed that by changing the display settings to 480p in the system menu. It looks perfect now! Can't wait to play more soon.
Almost two weeks later and I'm more than halfway through GTA III now. This game has been an absolute blast to play, I'm surprised at how well it holds up two decades later. Sure the lack of camera control can be an issue but the game genuinely feels like a modern open world game otherwise. Going into it though I thought the game was going to be very hard since people online have been saying that it's one of the hardest GTA games, and the hardest among the 3D ones. I haven't noticed that at all, although some missions have required me to redo them once or twice because I'm just not familiar with the map or the objectives were unclear. But it's not like the execution is difficult or anything once you know what you're supposed to do.
Anyway, I'm really starting to get into the GTA series now. I recently bought Liberty City Stories on Vita, so now I have two massive GTA games on that system. Not to mention that I'm considering buying Chinatown Wars on Vita and ordering a copy of San Andreas on original Xbox as well as one of Episodes from Liberty City on 360 since I never played through the Ballad of Gay Tony DLC of GTA IV, which is supposedly really good. I really need to catch up with this series, especially since I still need to play Vice City and San Andreas.
Just bought "the great escape" from music magpie. I do not remember if I played it on original xbox, I might have bought one just to play it, as it was supose to release on gamecube at the time, but never did, which I could not beleave, it was advertised for so long by nintendo over 3 or 4 yeras. Really looking forward to playing it. One of best movies ever made.😁
