@ralphdibny Music For The Jilted Generation is a superb album with Their Law being one of the standout tracks. And who doesn't like Firestarter. Oh the 90's, bring back my youth!
A quick scan of the music library on my phone suggests that Mogwai are in fact my favourite British band (or at least have the most tracks I like). A few in my top ten that haven't otherwise been mentioned - Spiritualized, The Chemical Brothers & Lamb. Not sure any of these would be considered Best of all Time though... maybe just bands I like that have release loads of stuff that I've bought.
@ralphdibny Yeah, I think you grow up liking what you like and it stays with you. I grew up with two older sisters. So I really do like a bit of everything. But around 15 years ago I went round to a mates house and he had just bought a 360 with guitar hero. That game was a big shift in the music I like. I was never a massive fan of hard rock but I love it now.
I have a lot of You tube and Spotify deep dives. You choose 1 song and just leave it going.
Last full albums I listened to :
System of a Down - Toxicity (prob my fave album ever)
Slipknot - Vol 3
Portishead - Dummy
Depeche mode - Violator
Massive attack - Blue lines
Queen - Queen II
The Prodigy - Experience
Can't believe I missed The Prodigy off my list. Sacrilege I tells ya.
@GarbonZoni that's a great selection! I got GH3 on the Wii when it came out but a couple months ago I really got a hankering for it so I played it through again on the Wii U. Then I went out to CEX/eBay and bought the rest of the Wii ones that I didn't have. I think I have like 8-10 of them now. Only one I didn't get hold of was Van Halen because it was a bit more expensive than the couple of quid I paid for the other ones.
Cant play mine as much as my 360 is on it's way out. So I updated the pc and got Clone Hero. Now I got all GH and RB plus all their dlcs. Worth a look if you have a good PC. Plus all the community made stuff. Yeah the Van Halen must gettin rarer cause it is always a bit more than the rest.
Hard to choose a definitive best but here's a few I'd put up there..
The The
Arctic Monkeys/Last Shadow Puppets
Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green era)
Jethro Tull
Maximo Park
10cc
Electric Light Orchestra
The Police
Happy Mondays
