2023 is well past the halfway point at this stage, but that doesn't mean we don't have a bumper list of new single player games to look forward to during the rest of the year. As soon as we mention single player games here the immediate elephant in the room is of course Starfield, but there's lots to look forward to elsewhere.
Just this week we have upcoming action RPG Atlas Fallen, quickly followed up by FromSoftware's Armored Core 6 before we roll right into the aforementioned Starfield in September. We've got a busy few weeks on Xbox, folks!
As is the case pretty much every year, the fall season is also set to pick up with lots of high-profile releases like Assassin's Creed Mirage, Alan Wake 2 and much, much more. In fact, you can check out our video producer's lovely and informative YouTube video above highlighting 25 (!) exciting single player games that are still coming to Xbox this year.
Well, okay... maybe 24 at the time of writing. Yep, in the short space of time between creating said video and pushing it live, Devolver Digital decided to delay The Plucky Spire to sometime in 2024. It's almost as if they knew, isn't it!
Is there anything in this single player list that excites you personally? Which of these are you hoping to get around to playing this year? Let us know down in the comments section below.

Just Armored Core for me.
AC6
Mario Wonder
Warioware
Pikmin 4
those are my final purchases of new games for the year.
Alan Wake and AC preordered for me. Looking forward to Starfield as well. Cocoon also looks wonderful. I’m not sure most of those games at the tail end of the presentation will make it this year, but who knows? I’m probably too broke to buy much else this year due to a savings draining car repair, so thank God for Gamepass, amirite?
Its gonna be so hard to get through everything thats coming this year, what great time to be a gamer!
Starfield, Mortal Kombat 1 an Spiderman 2 are the games i’m hyped for.
REally great article, thanks
I'll be getting Fate/samurai remnant, AC Mirage and like a dragon spin off. I've pre ordered mirage on xbox. Will be getting the other 2 on PC.
Never used to have any love for Mortal Kombat during the 90's - far too much button bashing and no match for SF 2 but it got better with each iteration.
Day 1 for me...still think Street Fighter is the best though.
Yes to pretty much all of them and you can add Diablo IV, Zelda, Starfield, Forza, BG3, and Spider-Man to that list. I don’t work during the fall and winter so have as much time for gaming as I really see fit and I still don’t think I will get to even half of those games this year.
starfield, blasphemous 2, alone in the dark (I live in louisiana), armored core (want to give series first shot) and wow plucky squire looks really cool
