Another weekend begins! If you're looking for things to play, we've got a few new releases on Xbox Game Pass, a couple of sport-focused Free Play Days titles, and hundreds more deals available to grab on the Xbox Store right now.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, Editor
I'm really enjoying my time with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions right now. To be honest I wasn't expecting much at all from it, but the developers have done a great job turning it into a highly enjoyable gameplay experience that I don't see myself giving up anytime soon. It needs more modes really, but it's still keeping me invested.
I guess going back to Star Wars Outlaws is my other plan on Ubisoft+ before my month of access runs out. I've played a few hours so far and I've enjoyed it for the most part, but the stealth kinda puts me off. It's got immaculate vibes for sure, and I love checking out all the little details, but yeah... when I keep getting caught in these lengthy stealth sections, it just makes me want to go and play something else. The rest of the PX team don't agree with me though!
Have a good weekend, folks.
Craig Reid, Video Producer
(Fraser is right, I like the slinking around in Star Wars Outlaws - he's silly)
Looks like I've got 48 hours of Space Marine 2 lined up for the weekend. Honestly, I can't get enough of it—it's phenomenal. Has anyone jumped into the early access launch yet? What’cha think?
Of course, I’ll have to, y'know... eat, sleep, and do all that other stuff, but for the most part, I'll be tanked up in ceramite, tearing apart Tyranid filth. Oh, I’ll be checking out the upcoming Towerborne too, so keep an eye out for our impressions!
Have a great weekend, folks!

Astro bot.
No man’s sky and hopefully fit a game of AoE Mythology in too.
A couple of games started and/or tried since last week 🙂
Astro Bot - Holy hell this is going to be an awesome game, I’ve had a big smile on my face every second I’ve been playing 🤩 Its like a dream combo of Sackboy and Mario but better! Amazing!
Star Wars Outlaws - I was really on the fence about this game but after reading a lot of reviews and watching some videos I decide to get it and I must say Im really enjoying it and having a lot of fun. The Star Wars feeling is great, love running around different settlements and cities, cantinas etc and taking it all in. Nixx is a nice companion, I like that hes more than a cute dog/cat thing but is also useful when playing and solving some of the puzzles or how to open doors etc. Exloration is pretty standard but fun and rewarding, especially in space. The game also looks great imo. The gameplay however feels dated and like a big step backwards in many regards. Shooting isnt great, neither is stealth, AI is pretty stupid and has to be cause otherwise stealth would always fail, spacebattles feels good though and the story and missions are good enough. The cardgame Sabacc is great fun!
All in all I would probably give it a strong 7/10 or a weak 8/10 and can recommend it if you like these kind of games.
Harry Potter - Quidditch - a bit meh. Dont see myself spending too much time with this game. Maybe should have been a part of Hogwarts Legacy instead.
Space Trucker - Wanted a relaxing game but this isnt quite scratching that itch for me. Still, might make a delivery every now and then.
Astro Bot. Not much else.
Already finished Star Wars Outlaws. The stealth wasn't that hard imo. But I get it, yeah.
Currently playing Avatar Frontiers of Pandora.
Enjoying The Last Campfire. Have Brotato on my up next… If I have time to start a new game it might be Space Trucker… Glad everyone is enjoying Outlaws and Astrobot! Have a great gaming weekend!
Astro Bot, been a long time coming this year from Sony but a delightful gameplay, 94 meta.
Amazing game, runs 60fps and hits 4K sometimes. Zero bugs so far and faultless controls.
Now why can’t the rest of worlds developers get it right on day of release or at all.
Hang on like I’ve been saying for years the answer.
Just like Nintendo. Developing games for one target device, their own console.
Must be brilliant for developers to have that, one device make that game sing and be perfect on release.
I'll be enjoying black ops beta this weekend today and tomorrow once the kids go to bed ill on that!
On Series X
Lotr: Return to Moria. Enjoying base building & exploring for the most part. Will be a long term project i think.
The Last Stand Aftermath. Nice little zombie survival rogue like with some interesting mechanics that keep you pushing forward for one last try when you eventually die.
Kind of interested in Astrobot on PS5 but for me its a little overpriced for the 15 or so hours its supposed to play. Will wait on a sale. To scratch the platforming itch in the meantime have been running through Ratchet & Clank Rifts Apart. Its goofy & silly fun with enough challenge to keep me entertained.
I could say Astro Bot, but I have to be realistic and say that I’ll be watching my son play Astro Bot and potentially play the hard parts.

After the masterpiece of Alien Romulus, I've decided to replay my favorite horror game Alien: Isolation. The AI still hasn't been surpassed, even to this day.
About 4hrs into Star Wars Outlaws via Ubi+. Lots to like about it - certainly has the right vibe, the environments look great, and Nix is an okay sidekick. Yes, the AI is awful a lot of the time, the stealth resets can be infuriating and the overall fluidity and UX is janky. But there's an excellent game in there somewhere, so I'm going to hang in a while longer.
I read about the next patch and longer-term plans, eg improving stealth, reducing difficulty spikes, making QoL tweaks and adding DLCs, etc... which makes me feel that we might see something like a Cyberpunk 2077 redemption in a few months. If they can fix the things that are obviously and universally broken, improve the QoL and add more content then it could absolutely smash it.
I'm playing Star Wars Outlaws. I've got a couple weeks left of Ubisoft+ to finish the game.
Astro Bot, simple, addictive, various gameplay features, fun, replayability with trying to 100% every world, while enjoying the music and the sounds!
FH5 & FM2023: new stuff finished (except daily challenges)
Sniper Elite 5: DLC
Super Arcade Football on Switch (Sensi football)
And trying to do some "You Suck at Parking" on GPU, before it's gone on the 15th!
I picked up Astrobot (PS5) because it reviewed well and I'm kind of in between games right now. I'm not really a fan of 3D platformers but perhaps this game will convince me. It definetly looks fun enough. And I love all the Easter eggs in it. Looking forward to playing it later today.
Mostly jumping between Star Wars outlaws (Series X) and Astro Bot (PS5). Have played around 17-18 hours on SWO and am really enjoying it. Astro Bot was only released yesterday so have only played around 2 hours but it’s been great fun so far. Trying to limit my gaming sessions on Astro because I know it’s not a huge game and I don’t want to rush through it.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Still enjoying my hangout with Sully in the jungle
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Still doing dailies and working through adventure mode.
NBA Jam (Windows Phone) - Still playing daily.
This weekend, I find myself diving deeper into Black Myth: Wukong—a game that’s captivated me more than any other title this year, even more than Dragon’s Dogma 2. Even after completing one full playthrough, I’m now embarking on New Game Plus, something I rarely do unless I’m truly hooked.
When I first started playing Black Myth: Wukong, I didn’t expect it to become my Game of the Year (GOTY), but now, I can’t imagine any other title taking the crown. The depth, boss encounters, and the incredible combat system have all made it a standout experience. I’ve already finished one playthrough, where I managed to unlock every secret area and boss fight—including a secret, God of War-style ending—without using a guide. I’m still amazed at how I managed that! Despite this, I’m looking forward to relying on a guide for my NG+ playthrough, as I aim for the coveted platinum trophy.
What sets Black Myth: Wukong apart for me is the sheer immersion. The world feels alive with mysteries waiting to be uncovered, and the combat constantly challenges me in the best way possible. One moment, in particular, that truly blew me away was stumbling upon the optional Yellow Loong boss fight. It was nighttime, and I found myself battling this massive creature on a ragged cliffside under the light of the moon. The way the lightning from Yellow Loong’s attacks lit up the sky created a thrilling, almost cinematic atmosphere. There are countless moments like this scattered throughout the game, especially if you take the time to explore.
At the same time, I’ve been alternating with Ys: Memories of Celceta on my trusty Vita, which has proven to be a delightful surprise. Having already played and platinumed Ys VIII, my first introduction into this storied franchise, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy Memories of Celceta more, but surprisingly, I do—especially in terms of the story and the characters. The game has a light-hearted charm that’s kept me smiling, and on more than one occasion, I’ve found myself laughing out loud at the dialogue and character interactions.
What really makes this game shine is its sense of adventure. The world feels vast, with lush forests, ancient ruins, and a rich, mystical atmosphere that makes exploration rewarding. Sure, there are a few frustrating mechanics like the limited fast travel early on, but by mid-game, this is resolved, and the flow of the game really picks up. I also found the upgrade system to be a bit clunky at times, but these minor issues don’t detract from the overall experience. I’m aiming for the platinum trophy in this one too, hopefully before Ys: Nordics drops next month.
Coming up, I’ll be diving into Space Marine 2, a game that looks absolutely stellar with its intense, action-packed battles in a futuristic setting. I’ve also picked up Astro Bot, which I’m excited to explore with my daughter once I’m done with my current adventures. This has been a sensational year for gaming.
Almost solely dawn of sorrow and wind waker HD. I may fire up my xbox for something but not sure yet. But I'm trying to decide what else to play once i beat either one. There's a bunch coming out this month I want to dabble in too.
Age of Mythology for me. Put about 5 hours in so far but it's been a blast, still getting used to the differences with AoE2 as a first time player but I am enjoying the quick gameplay and fun that comes with it.
Almost through AC Mirage. Stealth gameplay gets pretty fun once you have all your tools, but the game suffers from so much robotic exposition and boring Witcher-sense quest design.
Like all AC games, the core assassin-y gameplay is fun, everything else is not. Origins is the only one that pulled everything together with satisfying exploration and a balanced, well-paced story without a lot of Animus dreck.
I'm playing Starwars outlaw and I'm really liking it. I just did a secondary mission that was really well written and set them apart from most formulaic Ubisoft games (I'm sure all side quests won't have this level of depth, but this one surprised me)
I'm not a starwars fan and I'm still having a great time.
I gotta admit I can't play for more than 2 hours cause its gameplay might gets stale..but that's a personal thing. The world is simply amazing ,gameplay is just fine...it doesn't want to reinvent the wheel. Music is superb.
I like the progression system, u need to do certain tasks in order to obtain new abilities. What worries me is that if you simply do the main missions you won't be able to find the characters that lets u unlock these abilities.
For me it's a 8.5/10 for now (15 hours in)
I'm paying Ubi+ for a couple of months and put in hold my GP subscription until I finish this game.
Playing a bit of SW Outlaws. So far very creaky, it’s a rental so no worries. Definitely needs work!
Daggerfall Unity.
Street Fighter 6 and King of Fighters 15.
Been playing a bit of Star Wars Outlaws. Some Fall Guys and Fortnite here and there with the wife. Might play a little bit of Kirby Star allies with her.
I pre-ordered AstroBot pretty much day 1 but I guess Im saving it for later. My backlog keeps growing
I'm gonna pick up AstroBot next week, But for now I'm gonna start up Terminator Resistance Comple Edition On Series X..
Some combination of these games I have been playing lately.
Xbox - Age of mythology, halo infinite (multiplayer)
Nintendo - xenoblade chronicles 2, sword of mana
Ps5 - MediEvil
Pc - borderlands 2
Yesterday I beat Tacoma which just about put me in a (Ta)coma. Didn't find any aspect of it interesting at all. Not sure how anyone could possibly consider it an "immersive sim." It has literally 0 of the qualifiers of the genre/style.
Also still playing Black Myth: Wukong and Doom: Legacy of Rust.
Some 7 Days to Die - did the day 105 blood moon and died. Need to improve the base I’ve been using for these levels.
Also had the chance to put some more time into Star Wars Outlaws, which I’m now enjoying a lot after the initial ‘what am I doing’ phase.
The Casting of Frank Stone. Great game.
Astrobot and Black Wukong. When Im tired of getting my butt kicked in Wukong, jumping into Astro is the balm I need.
I want to do a bit more in Diablo 4 too, but there's only so much time!
Whatever your playing have a great weekend..
Black Ops 6 Beta (Series X) Checking out the new maps for weekend 2 of the beta (Where's my Nuketown??) So far it's better then the last CoD games but I think it's because of the new movement system. Still sweaty due to the SBMM but that's modern CoDs for you.
Castlevanis: Portrait of Ruin (Switch) Still one of my favorite Castlevania games. For me this one is even better the DoS.
Borderlands 3 (Series X) Continuing this game with my son. We just got the vault key sitting at a level 12 Siren.
World of Warcraft (PC) Will be Continuing the grind to 80. I am actually taking my time with War With In. So far I am enjoying not sure if it will go down as one of my favorite expansions but so far it's enjoyable.
@Romans12 How does it compare to the other games I loved the quarry!
newest ‘Madden’ and a bit of Game Pass titles here and there
Working my way through Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. I think I'm getting close to the end. In some ways I like it even better than the first one, it feels like season 2 of a comedy when the writers really hit their stride because they know the characters better.
Hello there fellow gamers;
This weekend I´ll be playing Astro Bot, wich is the best game ever, more Street Fighter 6 online matches, learned some new Ryu combos, gotta do them in a match and continue Kay Vess Star Wars Outlaws journey all on my PS5.
I´m putting my Series X on rest until I get my physical copies of Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, Metaphor: Refantazio and Assassins Creed Sahdows...... Or until I decide to play Control or Lies of P again 😜
Cheers everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
Cheers
Taking a spin in TDU solar crown. This is going to be great.
In Poland on holiday but still playing Black Ops Beta on Xbox via remote play and it’s great! Playing on my Logitech G Cloud - my favourite bit of kit these days for my Xbox gaming on the go.
Playing Star Wars Outlaws on Xbox and Paper Mario (N64) on my switch everyday before sleeping.
I'm slowly trying to get back to daily life and gaming after having been sick since last sunday(first time being sick since before the pandemic!) so I don't really know what I will be playing this weekend but I guess I'll continue to chip away at Trails into Reverie on PS5, if I get some time over.
It’s all about Space Marine 2 this weekend. Love it!
I’m mostly obsessing over Astro Bot. My soon to be brother in law had his bachelor party at an F1 simulation place, so we played that for three hours, not usually my thing, but it was fun. Also, I’ve been squeezing on Visions of Mana when my kids steal my PS5.
Call of Duty blops 6 beta , STar WARs Outlaws
Well here we go with another wild WAYP. Been a wild cool week around here. Most of the week was just the usual games like Dawntrail and SMTV: Vengeance and some new stuff like Star Wars Outlaws and BAKERU which both were exceedingly amazing. Most of the weekend when not working was taken up by the Big Run in Splatoon 3 and more Visions of Mana. Got those new Splatoon Amiibos in and they are absolutely beautiful. Also picked up my copies of Ace Attorney Investigations Collection and Astro Bot. Very excited to play those. Also got like 100$ in Eshop money for lots of cool stuff like Baten Kaitos HD and even preorder money for Yakuza Kiwami. Once I’ve spent it on my day off I’ll list what I bought next WAYP. Also with the news on Concord this week I got my refund so I’m gonna go ahead and preorder something special. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some of the COD Black Ops 6 Beta as yes if I enjoy that beta I’m going to use the refund money for a copy of Black Ops 6. Pretty sure it’ll be my first Day 1 COD. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Ace Attorney, Trails Through Daybreak, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, Paper Mario, Bakeru, Dawntrail, Astro Bot, Emio, P3R: The Answer, Star Wars Outlaws and Visions of Mana. Think this is also the week Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP comes out so I’ll be excited for that one. Only wrestling thing I wanna mention this week is short and simple. AEW All Out. Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland. Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match. I’m now a AEW fan too. Anime of the week gotta go to Nokotan, Alya Sometimes Speaks in Russian, Oshi No Ko and Mission Yozakura Family. Yeah got some new ones in here and one of them Nokotan is actually anime of the season I’m absolutely loving it. Alya is extremely cute too. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel, Aetheryte Radio and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be wildly awesome to each other. Have a totally cool weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
@Ryne-Gaia One of the best cage matches I've seen in years!
