Welcome to the weekend! There's plenty to check out on Xbox Game Pass over the next few days, including the recent additions of Road 96 and Matchpoint: Tennis Championships, along with a couple more Free Play Days titles such as The Crew 2, and a whole batch of Xbox deals highlighted by a special Back Compat Sale!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

With Wimbledon about to come to an end in real life, I'm still not finished playing Matchpoint: Tennis Championships on Xbox Game Pass just yet, although as I mentioned in our review, I've unfortunately been finding the Career Mode far too easy and therefore I'm not that far away from becoming the #1 ranked player.
When I'm done with it, I've got to spend some time with an upcoming Xbox Game Pass game for review, and I'll also be diving back into Road 96 on Xbox Game Pass, which is definitely one of the highlights of July 2022's lineup.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

I'm now starting F.E.A.R 3 after liking the last two, hopefully the trilogy ends well. I have decided it will be my last ever 360 game.
Most 360 games look blurry and very dated now. It was fun while it lasted but ready to focus on newer games.
Tried Matchpoint Tennis but really isn't very good and agree it's far too easy so gets very boring after a couple of matches. Hopefully Top Spin makes a return one day.
Road 96 for me.
Hoping to finish off Mass Effect 2 this weekend and then move on to Genesis Noir
A bit of everthing really... Road 96 (ok) , red dead redemption (masterpiece), watchdogs 2(really good)
Wrapping up the final markers on Assassin's Creed Origins here, alongside starting a new game of Assassin's Creed 2 as well (definitely my favourite in the series. I can't play an AC game without just wanting to go back to Ezio in 2)
Tried Matchpoint Tennis, wasn't a fan, it's no Top Spin. I'll be sticking to Assassin's Creed Valhalla this weekend
Playing through Sin and Punishment on N64 via the NSO app. Still getting used to the controls.. This game is extremely difficult, but very creative. I'm not ashamed to admit I'm save scumming my way through it. Interesting that it never came out in the US, but all the dialogue is fully voice acted in American English with Japanese subtitles.
I bought Nightmare of Decay on PC about a week ago, and that will very likely be my next game since apparently it's only ~3 hours long. Supposedly it's a very good faux-retro interpretation of what the original Resident Evil might have been like if it was an FPS.
Other than that, just some Fall Guys with my buddies last night, and maybe more tonight. I want to give Naraka a shot, but I'm the only one of us who actually downloaded it 😅😂
First week with a xbox series x. In fact first week playing a xbox! So im trying the exclusives. Gear 5 and Forza for now.
Im very happy be part of the xbox family. Lets see what the future reserve
Assassin’s Creed Origins, Rocket League and some D&D tonight with friends.
Just bought lost ruins a couple of days ago, it's pretty good. Also playing castlevania sotn, dead cells, huntdown, klonoa demo, and horizon chase turbo.
I tried Far Cry 5 and really hated it. That's now uninstalled, overwhelming, repetitive mission design, poor open world design, hate that you have to grind to make money. It's just overall bad game.
Moving on to something else now
Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak (Nintendo Switch) - I played the base game for about 60 hours when it originally released, but haven’t touched it in a year or more since. Unfortunately, I forgot that I deleted my entire progress from Rise so I have to start completely from scratch. This isn’t that much of an issue, but the endless amount of tutorials and dialogue in the beginning hours almost put me off from even playing the game again. Sometimes less is more. Other than the initial cumbersome hours, the game is still a blast to play. Hopefully, I can get to Sunbreak soon.
Diablo III (Nintendo Switch) - I’m halfway through Act II in the campaign and still loving every second of it. I’m hoping to get to Act III by the end of the weekend. This game is special, and I can’t believe how well it’s optimized for the Switch. I have only had one issue and that is the sound of NPC’s randomly gets very quiet sometimes and I can’t hear a single word they say. Aside from that, it runs flawlessly.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Nearly halfway with the required medals needed for July.
Age of Empires: Castle Siege (Android) - Shame I didn't play this in its heyday, seems it would be better with other people to play with.
Make It Rain: The Love of Money (Windows Phone) - This is great for killing a few minutes here and there.
Cuphead on World 3, two bosses done and Run & Gun. Road 96 need to start. Over on Switch AI The Somnium Files 2, Neon White and Live A Live demo
@Shramm Great time to be getting a Series X with the game pass lineup coming up
@fabisputza007 I want to get back on Red Dead Redemption 2 but need that 60fps update, they will probably charge for it though right
Sadly, im still playing some guitar hero on my old PS3! Also playing the original Motorstorm as we have the machine back!
Im also still working my way through Ghostwire Tokoyo.
Very interested in playing Road 76, Im hoping to play some this Sunday.
Whatever your playing, have fun!
I'm still making my way through Mario + Rabbbids, After that i think i might jump into Klonoa on Series X..
Mad max, F1 2022, Monster Sanctuary and Rush rally origins. I tried Matchpoint tennis championships but couldn’t get into it. There’s just something off with the aiming of your shots. Hopefully they can improve/fix this in a patch. Seriously, how many years has it been since Top Spin 4? And still no one has bettered it 🙄
I am beginning threetown in lost in random, it’s quite a strange game with a burton visual style but to date I enjoy it.
Just finally finished trails of cold steel 1 and have the second downloaded but will wait a few weeks before starting that, the story was pretty good but was so much going on and so many side characters, I feel pressured to play the next games ASAP otherswise il forget who everyone is lol
I'm also close to fully completing scarlet nexus, just one more chapter to go, once thats done im going to start star ocean the last hope 4k
And finally on switch I will continue with xenoblade chronicles 2, just started chapter 8 so I'm hoping there's not much left now as I want to finish it before number 3 comes out at the end off the month. I can go without doing the torna dlc
Currently flitting between Tunic (amazing game) and Yakuza Kiwami on Game Pass. I bought it for ps2 years ago but after the murder bit I swapped it for something else. Bad habit when I used to buy physical games.
Also doing the odd sea fort on Sea of Thieves as I find them relaxing for some reason.
@Bmartin001 How's the difficulty after world 1? I want to play it before number 2 comes out but heard it gets quite hard from world 2
Was gonna play Portal 2 on Switch, but my friend wants me to wait so he can get it and then co-op it together, so I thought I'd try out Road 96 on Gamepass. I'm an hour or so in and so far, I'm really liking it. Definitely a highlight to the service this month. I also recently bought a few lightgun games on PS2, so I'm also gonna try and get some time in with those too 😁👍
Still having a blast with Infinite, so i'll be playing that a bit. Beyond that, might give a smaller game like Tunic a shot. Have a great weekend everyone!
@UltimateOtaku91 I'm currently on world 3 right now and the game is pretty challenging.. However the game does offer a easy mode, Before each battle starts up where you can completely heal your team and start with more health before each battle starts.. I've done this a couple times and i still found the game to be alot of fun even playing on the easy mode..
Likely some Halo and fall guys with my buddies Sunday night.... maybe some more ascent. Need to determine if I'm trying to finish it up or deleting it.
Maybe some TMNT with the kids as well
On my Xbox it's still dq11 nearing the end of the story arc now. Only have the last boss to go and then it's post game stuff if I feel like it.
On my ps5 I'm playing Lost words beyond the page. Almost done with it. Pretty original platformer with a gripping story. The gameplay is very basic but it's very relaxing. When I'm done I'm going to either continue Infamous second son or go play Doki Doki literature club plus.
Enjoying Matchpoint in SP since the MP is full of lag & "the system" doesn't really work well. Oh, and 3 setters in the French open in a game? A bit of a drag, really! That's almost 20 sets to end a grandslam final!
Playing some cyberpunk 2077. Really enjoying myself, with the new updates and nextgen patches.
After finishing up Dead Space for the Monthly Game Club I wanted more…so I fired up Dead Space 2 and ran through the Severed dlc in about an hour (it’s super short) and was impressed with how good the old 360 games looks with fps boost. Think I might make a run on all the bc 360 games with fps boost now.
Been playing Matchpoint which i've now "completed" in the sense that i've reached rank 1, maxed out my stats and won a couple of majors etc
What much more is there to do in the career mode really ?
Also catching up on some old games such as GoW, Darkness and MX vs ATV Alive
Playing AI: The Somnium Files on my Series S.
Took a trip to the beach with fam Tuesday & took out three games whilst in the car: ElecHead, Kirby’s Adventure & Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’s main story!
I was pleasantly surprised with the challenge in Kirby’s NES effort. I may go as far as to rank it above Superstars
Just grinding through the endgame of Sunbreak now & trying my hand at Dirt5 on GamePass but it’s having a hard time holding my itch for monster hunting. Also some Halo Infinite multiplayer in the mix with the event still going
Does Matchpoint Tennis come anywhere near the old Top Spin? I’ll have to try it.
@Tsushima yeah! And the game pass its impressive! So much games to try before the next big releases.
@aj102404 Sadly no but the "tennis gameplay" can be very enjoyable. Switch to Pro mode & it can be addictive at times. Never lost a set & only a few games on that setting but you can try a lot of things that way. I personally like the fact you can hit balls with a very sharp angle. The effort of the dev was put in the animations & gameplay (although far from perfect). Not an Achievement hunter but they stack up easily. Grandslam are like 7 rounds of 3 sets (to win) but you can save during your game anytime & play something else.
I’ve jumped back into Final Fantasy XIV again, after a long hiatus.
