Welcome to the weekend! We imagine many people will be diving into Mass Effect Legendary Edition with Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play over the next couple of days, but we've also been treated to many other Game Pass additions this week, and don't forget about the massive Xbox "Last Chance" sale if you're eager to bag a great bargain.
Here's what we're diving into this weekend:

In an attempt to try and reduce the overwhelming nature of my Xbox backlog, I recently created a group of just 5-6 games that I'm hoping to tackle over the coming weeks. The first of these is Hades, which I'm making great progress on right now, and I'm really having an incredible time with it — all thanks to Xbox Game Pass, of course.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition has also been added to that list, although I think I'll be slowly chipping away at that one for a while. Another recent Game Pass addition I'm hoping to check out is Embr, which looks like a great multiplayer firefighting game. Oh, and I may also have the odd game of my long-running NHL 20 Franchise Mode!
Have a good weekend, everyone.

It's all about Scarlet Nexus for me this weekend. I picked this one up on Game Pass last week and am absolutely addicted to what Bandai Namco have got going on. Its JRPG elements aren't in any way surprising, just really well done with an absorbing narrative, but it's the combat that's floored me and completely hooked me in. The action here feels more akin to a full blown PlatinumGames joint than it does anything else I've played in this genre and it melds with the story aspects really, really well. So yeah, I don't think I'll have time for anything else over the next few days, I'm gonna be very busy slaughtering Others!
Have a great weekend!

After a short break, this weekend I'll be returning to Halo Infinite. I did manage to finish off the Winter Contingency event in the end, so I guess now I'll focus on the Fracture: Tenrai Event while it's still around. Apart from this, I've been thinking a lot about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim lately (as you do), so I'm eager to hop back into the Anniversary Edition. Last but not least, I'll be revisiting Tales of Arise - a game I didn't spend enough time with last year, so hopefully I can rectify that in 2022.
Game on, everyone!

Will be playing Mass Effect: Andromeda, Steins;Gate 0 and Sonic & Knuckles. Really liking the first two games so far and it's fun checking out classic Sega games.
It is Control Ultitmate Edition and Halo Infinite for me.
Originally I was planning on playing through the artful escape to chill out but I'll grind that samurai armour a bit more in Infinite most likely. Lvl 12 so far and i believe I can go up to 15? After that i might play Artful Escape or I'll likely just jump into the infinite campaign and progress with the main story.
Halo infinite MP. I have 5 fiesta games left to play for the ultimate weekly challenge and just hit lvl 90 on the battlepass
Continuing my 2nd playthrough of Horizon Zero Dawn on my PS5, and then I will also likely finally finish Halo CE. I still believe it's aged horribly, but at least the last couple of missions are actually pretty solid after randomly playing the game again. If the game didn't get better again, I likely wouldn't have ever finished it, as crazy as that sounds considering how much of a big deal the original is.
After trying to start it multiple times, I’ve finally got going on State of Decay 2. Now I’ve got into it I’m enjoying it so far. Also playing Elden Lilies quietus of the Knights, AC Valhalla, and Kaze and the wild masks. May also have to give Scarlet Nexus a go after what PJ O’Reilly said above!
Horizon Zero Dawn on my PS5, as I haven't played it since it was first released (and not played the DLC at all), and wanted to remind myself of the story prior to the sequels release, which I have on pre-order...
Nothing for this week-end as I have way too much work, but next week I plan to do something kind of heretic : to suspend my playthrought of Halo Infinite (which I just started, anyway) in order to wait and see if some future patch will fix those laggy cut-scenes (the only grief I have toward the game, right now).
So I plan to start Mass Effect, in the meantime !
On the Xbox side of things I've just finished The Gunk. I highly recommend this game! Really stunning to look at, great feeling gameplay and there's just something very relaxing about hoovering up all of the titular gunk! I've started the Halo Infinite campaign, and will be playing that on and off in the background, but I'm now hooked on The Pedestrian! So many great games to play and this is only on one of three systems!
Almost finished with Portal Stories: Mel. I was really having a tough time with one of the levels last night, but I refuse to look up the solution. I beat Portal 1, 2, and Reloaded on my own, and this will be no different.
I started Mass Effect when the Legendary Edition dropped onto Game Pass and it seemed like something I would enjoy, but I may put off continuing it until I beat Metro: Exodus first so I can give both of these games the full attention they seem to deserve.
All done with Halo this week. Thought about getting in last night ended up playing B Slay the Spire instead.
This weekend not sure what I’m playing. Maybe I’ll feel up to playing some Halo our possibly giving a random game on Game Pass a go.
Halo infinite, im lie 10 hs in and the lack of innovation it starting to show. I'm stuck at a place where it looks like an arena where hordes of enemies keep dropping. Great game either way
Also playing Hitman 3 and just started Mass Effect legendary edition, let's see if it's as good as they say hehe
Destiny 1
Decided to experience the original in full as I only finished about 20 missions previously on PS4. Hopefully can find some people to play with.
I'm playing The Pedestrian, I only have about 3 levels left, once this is done then I'll be starting my playthrough of Mass Effect (the first one) and I'll also start playing Firewatch.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Trapped in a tomb with Dante, need to fight my way out.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Dailies and puzzle packs.
Tiki Towers (Windows Phone) - About halfway now.
SWITCH
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - going back to this one this weekend! Mainly trying to find those damn Koroks lol.
Splatoon 2 - gonna try and finish the Octo Expansion, it's pretty tough so far!
PC
Cyberpunk 2077 - I managed to upgrade my PC this past couple weeks so I'm going to start this one!
Garry's Mod/GTA Online - Multiplayer madness with friends later tonight!
Have a good weekend, everyone!
I finally got a Playstation 5, My first Playstation system since PS2.. I'm currently playing God Of War, The visuals, Story, Cinematics are amazing but i find the combat to be very repetitive..
Had a quick go on Tho Pedestrian and it seems interesting and requires a bit of thought.
Also had a go on Gorogoa which is another interesting puzzler but has a lovely art style to it as well.
I will be giving Sable a go, the art style in the screenshot looks pretty cool ( it is also one of the games on this months Rewards challenge). I am still plugging away at Forza Horizon 5's seasonal challenges, and I am also about a third of the way through Ghost of Tsushima ( playing on New Game + so only really doing the main story and character quests, then going to visit the island that was added to the ps5 version)
I just watched credits roll on Halo Infinite’s campaign. Not sure how others feel but I loved it. All the stuff w Cortana…amazing.
I’ll probably wrap up the weekly for Infinite mp…then I think I may make a run on finishing up all the tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Just trying to roll credits on a lot of games this year, since last couple years I’ve been pretty obsessed with multiplayer focused games.
Other than Infinite and maybe some R6 Extraction I think I’m done with online mp for a while.
@Sakai Way to grind, Spartan! I’m about to hit level 80 myself…I’ve been spacing it out and mostly playing the first few matches after daily reset so I don’t burn out too quick. Last time I finished a 100 level battle pass I stopped playing completely (Modern Warfare 2019)
Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 and Rumble Roses XX are the games in my rotation this week.
I've bought a new 360 to replace my one that died last month so back to Sleeping Dogs. Lousy definitive edition blocked the original from being BC but at least I cant keep putting it on hold forever. It may be done this weekend. If it is I will return to Fez.
@Dusk_Actual
I loved the Halo Infinite campaign as well, I actually don't play multiplayer much at all, I'm on my second run of the single player. Really like the way they handled Cortana in this. It wasn't perfect but they did the best they could given how they painted themselves into a corner with 5's horrible portrayal of her.
@Dusk_Actual I finished the pass 2 weeks after the Campaign launch and I generally only go back for the weekly now. I do feel a bit burnt out and that is all on me but still I mostly enjoyed my time playing the game when I was levelling up.
That said playing the game for fun has been much more enjoyable than playing it for the weekly challenges. The lack of self imposed pressure makes a huge difference.
@Gamer83 I have to go back and play a bunch of the Halo campaigns…unfortunately I wasn’t much into the franchise for a lot of the entries. I think I’ve finished this one, the very first one and Reach.
@ParsnipHero I’m super conservative these days with Battle Passes…at one point last year I had 3 separate passes active and I finished none of them…not sure what I was thinking getting invested like that
@Dusk_Actual
Reach still has my favorite campaign, followed closely by 3. Aside from 4 and 5, all the campaigns are really great. I'd definitely recommend the Master Chief Collection.
The Gunk, mainly. Really enjoying it too. Filling out the time with Forza Horizon 5.
@Dusk_Actual I usually only have 1 game at a service at a time. Previously I’ve spent a a good chunk of time on Fortnite and Apex Legends but never at the same time.
Psychologically weeklies mess me up because I want to complete them as soon as possible. I usually finish them by Thursday at the earliest but there have been weeks where I’m knocking on Sunday or even Monday if there is one especially annoying one.
It’s not sustainable and looking at the rewards (compared everyone so far) it’s not worth it either. I think the only weekly reward I’ve actually used is the Willow Tea armor coating.
I'm playing downgrading to a Series S as I had to sell my XSX. Need all the money I can spare to buy a new car as my last car died and the cost of repairing the engine would be higher than what the car itself is worth 😑 It's not a catastophe as Series S is a great console, but still feel bad about selling my XSX.
I'm continuing with the Halo Infinite campaign
Had some hours of multiplayer fun in Forza Horizon 5, really want to try out Alien Fireteam but can't motivate friends to play this game with me - and will probably continue puzzlers The Pedestrian and or Gorogoa.
@Dusk_Actual
I haven’t played infinite yet, but I am in the same position as you. I played through reach, and am halfway through the first one. Let’s enjoy.
I’m playing through no more heroes on switch, and totally loving it. When I first started, I thought it was a slog as I was playing on sweet mode, but changing it to mild mode and getting more through the story has made this a great game.
I started and finished Superliminal over the weekend. It was bloody brilliant. Mind bending yet life affirming. Highly recommended. I think this will remain in the memory alongside greats like Portal, Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn
@Dusk_Actual congrats on 80 spartan! I usually play 5-10 games a day when the kids go to bed. Since the updates the battlepass is much quicker. Really enjoying the game
@Clankylad
Dishonored 2 is truly amazing! one of my all time favourites heads down
