Well, another year has begun! 2022 has officially kicked off, and we're starting it with a weekend to (hopefully) relax and play some fantastic Xbox games. Don't forget that the huge Xbox Countdown Sale 2021 is ending over the next couple of days, so now is your last chance to add some of those discounted titles to your library.
Here's what we're diving into this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, News Editor
I feel like I want to return to some proper single-player adventures (that I haven't completed yet) this weekend, and that means the likes of Judgment, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mafia: Definitive Edition. They're all great games, I just find myself with less and less time these days to actually finish them! Life, eh?
I'm also still busy trying to finish the winter event for Halo Infinite so I can get all those free goodies, and I'm loving the multiplayer as it is anyway. The other game that might get some playtime is the original Xbox title Knights of the Old Republic — as big a Star Wars fan as I am, I've never actually completed that one either!
Happy New Year everyone, have a good weekend.
What Xbox games are you playing this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

Lots of Forza Horizon 5 and some Halo Infinite. I've been meaning to play some more Halo but I didn't have much time over the holidays.
Will be playing Mirror's Edge on 360, Steins;Gate 0 on Vita, Undertale on Switch and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on PS3. Lots of variety this weekend!
SWITCH
Skyrim - continuing my playthrough of this absolutely timeless game!
PC
Yakuza 0 - starting this series with this installment! Heard great things about it!
-
Garry's Mod - Multiplayer mayhem with friends later tonight!
Have a great weekend everyone, and Happy New Year!!
After a 6 months or so hiatus I’ve finally got back into AC Valhalla. First thing I did was finish the main story, then go get myself Thor’s hammer (Mjolnir) -which is awesome! Am now working my way through the first DLC, Wrath of the druids. Then onto the Siege of Paris DLC, which should take me nicely up to the release of The Dawn of Ragnarok expansion.
For Christmas I got Mass Effect legendary edition, so hope to start that over the weekend.
I’m still playing Halo Infinite, doing all the side stuff, collecting things. It’s just fun. I can’t decide on its graphics though, sometimes it looks beautiful, other times it looks ugly. The gameplay is beautiful though.
Going to start Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare today
Eastward (so close to the end, should finish it today), new Pokémon snap, Alan wake and probably a little of halo multiplayer (I say all this but likely it’ll just be Eastward and a game or two of halo)
Far cry 6 for me and it's dlc
Halo Infinite here. I finished all the MP content so I’m trying to get back into the story again. I have one last mission to do. Playing the story has been on hold over the Christmas break with family over, etc. looking foreward to finishing that so I can finally watch videos on people’s thoughts about it.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I didn't have any time to play over the Christmas period, which is understandable I suppose. These days I'm mostly playing Paw Patrol and Disneyland Adventures with my daughter. Happy New Year everyone!!
The Witcher 3. It feels so good to play this for a second time and try to fix the outcomes I was not happy with
Just finished off Lake, really enjoyed it. Not sure what’s next though.
@Balta666 I loved The Witcher 3, and completed the entire story and expansions a few years ago on PS4. I definitely want to play through it all again, but am waiting for the free next-gen upgrade.
On PS5 I've just completed the HZD frozen wilds so now I'm fully ready for forbidden West and can't wait, in the mean time I've started shin megami tensei 3 HD and Doki Doki literature club
On switch I will continue with the wild at heart and pokemon brilliant diamond
And on series S I will try and complete aliens fireteam elite and browse the gamepass offerings to see if anything catches my eye
Happy new year everyone!
I'm playing a bunch of games at the moment with so little time to do so
Halo infinite (the most fun I had with any games this year) 10 hrs in.
Hitman 3 (bought it 2 days ago)
Wolfenstein 2
and Ac unity .
also bought a second controller to play it takes two with the wife.
The usual two for me the last few weeks... Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5. Just bought Mass Effect Legendary Edition so will also look to start that and I usually revisit an original Xbox or 360 game or two. Right now playing Black, which is one of my favorite games from Criterion before they pretty much moved exclusively to racing.
@Nightcrawler71 yeah I would love for a 4k 60fps but I have played the whole game and expansions on switch so this is already a big improvement...
On my own on TV, Halo Infinite and Avengers.
On my phone using xcloud, Gears Tactics (someone here recommended it to me, great recommendation).
With the wife on TV, It Takes Two.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Finally returning to this after a lengthy break.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Daily challenges and puzzle packs as usual.
Tiki Towers (Windows Phone) - Still plugging away at this as well.
@Chaudy such a good dlc. You're in for a real treat.
I'm burning through Guardians of the Galaxy after nabbing it in the sale. What a spectacular game. It has a fair share of bugs, but it's so good I just don't care!
If I can peel myself away from that, I also need to start a full run of Dragon Age Inquisition. I completed it back on the PS4, but without all the DLC - plus the magic of Xbox lets me play in glorious 60fps 😍
I double dipped and bought Blasphemous on both Switch and Xbox. Worth it.
really been just playing through the premium battle pass for Halo Infinite and rolling through the story. Taking my time with it and getting all the Mjolnir lockers for the mp cosmetics.....Honestly, the armor coatings you get from the game have far surpassed anything available in the store.
Except that Cloud 9 coating. Too clean.
Gonna pick a game on Switch to complete, as I haven't beaten or finished up anything on it in a good while, though that hasn't stopped me from buying games for it. Thinking I might start with Link's Awakening, as I really dig the toy aesthetic.
Happy New Year all!
Halo Infinite campaign. Really loving this game. First time I've really ever been interested in Halo, even though I'm almost 40. Thanks Gamepass!
I'm gonna finally play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood..
A bit of AC: Valhalla and a bit of Psychonauts 2.
Replaying the GTA trilogy (PS2 classics not definitive) & playing genshin impact
Likely some infinite but i think I'll be finishing up the Injustice 2 alternate paths from my original playthrough first. Get the weekly quest done and free up some space on the SSD.
Tokyo Xanadu EX, Groove Coaster, and Record of Lodoss War.
Does anyone know if they are still bringing Mass Effect Legendary edition to Game Pass. I never saw it officially announced, but I remember hearing it quite a bit just a couple weeks ago
Thief. I know the universal consensus is that this game is trash, and yeah, its not even close to as good as the previous 3 games in the series (or Dishonored for that matter), but it's not that bad.
Also playing Portal Stories: Mel which I picked back up after putting it down for about a year. Over halfway through now and starting to run into some real brainbusters. Pretty sure I "cheated" on one of the puzzles, but hey, my strategy worked so I'm calling it fair game even though I'm 99% sure I didn't solve the puzzle "correctly."
I started Metro: Exodus as well, but I think I'm going to hold off until I beat one of these other games before I get too deep into this one.
Been reading this site for like a year and decided to finally create an account. I’m playing through resident evil village although I really feel like I’m in the mood for gears of war
Q) What Xbox games are you playing this weekend?
A) I got one game for my Xbox Series X at Christmas and that was Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. I just finished the main story yesterday actually.
I've got a few additional things I plan to try and unlock and challenges to best, but I'll admit that without online, I'm soon drawing to a close for things to do in the game. With any luck, hopefully it won't be long before Bright Memory Infinite (which was supposed to come out in 2021) finally releases on Xbox Series X.
Other then 4 Kings, been chequing out the new map on Fortnite, gonna try the 2 new gold games.
@Stoned_Patrol heard the same, then it went quiet. Most importantly, I haven’t heard anything about this being b.s., so there’s still hope.
I played some Halo: Infinite campaign, followed by Zombie Army 4 co-op.
A bit of Forza Horizon 5 and finish off Lake.
Witcher 3 xbox S first play threw and loving it!
Halo infinite campaign xbox s
Marvels avengers on the ps4
Last but not least Farcry 6 enjoy all 🤙
Switch- saints row 4, it was less then 3 bucks
Series x - assassins creed odyssey
