Well, it's almost time to close the book on 2023! In this final weekend before the new year, there's plenty to keep ourselves busy on Xbox including an incredible backlog of Game Pass titles and some new additions to the Xbox Countdown Sale!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

I think it's a Red Dead Redemption 2 weekend for me! I've never really played a lot of it (the original never appealed to me much) but I've been in a big Grand Theft Auto mood recently and I feel like RDR is the natural next step.
Speaking of Grand Theft Auto, I've been reinstalling the GTA Trilogy remasters along with GTA 4 over the past couple of weeks, and I'm slowly making progress in each of them. GTA 4 definitely still holds up, so I'm looking forward to revisiting that game properly and then finally making a start in the two DLC campaigns.
Have a good weekend and enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations, folks!

Having finally finished Resident Evil 4, and spending some time blasting through Alan Wake 2 last week, I'm thinking of revisiting some of Remedy's other Xbox releases. I've never played Alan Wake Remastered so that's one option (the 360 version still holds up though!), but I'm also tempted to go back to Quantum Break. Hmm... decisions, decisions.
Anyway, while I'm making my mind up there I'll be jumping back into Lake to play its Christmas-themed DLC. I picked the bundle up a few weeks ago after enjoying the base game on Game Pass and have been meaning to play the DLC over the festive period. Hopefully I can squeeze it in before the new year!
Speaking of which - have a great start to 2024, PXers!

It’s the final weekend of 2023 and what a year it has been! I’m spoilt for choice on what I could play this weekend but If I hope to finish Final Fantasy IX before the year end I’m gonna have to schedule a lazy Saturday in bed to crack on with it! I’m so close to the end, I can feel it in my bones, folks!
When I’m not chugging through Final ‘David Bowie’ Fantasy, I’ll most likely be sweating it on Call of Duty Modern Warfare III, The Finals and Battlefield V. Nothing like festive firefights to see you into the new year.
Merry gaming and a Happy New Year, Pure Xbox!
