Welcome to the weekend! It's all about Game Pass for us over the next few days, with no less than 12 games added to the service throughout the past week. However, there are also various Free Play Days titles including Assassin's Creed Odyssey to try this weekend, and Halo Infinite continues to prove highly popular as always.
Here's what we're diving into this weekend:

It's likely that I'm going to spend the majority of my Xbox time with Halo Infinite this weekend (no surprises there!). I've never been a big Halo fan in the past, but Infinite is absolutely fantastic in terms of gameplay, and it's become one my personal surprise games of the year. I'm actually playing a lot more multiplayer than campaign right now as well, which I didn't expect would be the case.
Aside from that, I loaded up my Xbox with a bunch of downloads earlier in the week for the likes of Mortal Kombat 11, Lake and Broken Age on Xbox Game Pass. I probably won't get to them all this weekend, but hopefully a few at least.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

Hello. This weekend I'll likely spend most of my gaming time with Halo Infinite's fantastic multiplayer. Yes, the progression system needs a bit of work at present, but the combat is just so slick and moreish, I'm completely addicted to it right now.
Elsewhere, if I manage to find the time, I'll also be blasting through the rest of the excellent Chorus. I mentioned this one last week but if you're on the look out for some top-notch space shooting action with a couple of really neat little quirks in its dogfighting duels, this is a game well worth checking out.

Yep, I'm still playing the Halo Infinite campaign, and I'm absolutely loving it. I'll admit I've dropped the difficulty down a little, but it's mainly so I can enjoy exploring the world of Zeta Halo without having to worry as much about Jackal Snipers and other surprises.
When I'm not in the game's campaign, I've been spending a lot of timing grinding in the multiplayer. Weeks on and it's still just as much fun. One other game I might also check out this weekend is The Gunk, which is now available on Game Pass. It's just a matter of ripping myself away from Halo. Game On!
What Xbox games are you playing this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

SWITCH
Metroid Dread - Continuing my playthrough of this amazing game! Loving it so far.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl - In celebration of crossplay and voice acting being announced, doing some online matches! Currently maining Nigel and Garfield.
PC
Horizon Zero Dawn - Starting this one today! Heard great things about it.
GTA Online - As always, multiplayer madness with friends tonight!
Have a great weekend everyone.
I’m playing The Gunk and Halo Infinite. Got to say I’m enjoying The Gunk, it’s a pretty chill little game, nothing special but enjoyable.
For xbox I will finish up the gunk, I'm 3 hours in and does already seem like the end is near 😢, then I will continue with some aliens fireteam which so far I've enjoyed more than back 4 Blood
On playstation 5 I will continue my slog through blue reflection second light and start a new game on horizon zero dawn so I can do the dlc before the new game comes out
On nintendo I've recently bought Bioshock remastered collection so will be playing that and pokemon brilliant diamond
Mortal Kombat 11, Plauge tale, and Gunk hopefully. I seriously love gamepass
@UltimateOtaku91 I'll have to ask how HZD 2 is when you've played it. That's one game I'll play the moment I get a PS5
I'll play some more of the 360 version of Borderlands 2 and probably some Psychonauts. May play some more Halo 5.
I'll lilely play some Spector of Torment and Yooka Laylee on Switch. Have some eShop credit but might hold off on buying anything because 2022 looks incredible and I need all the credit I can get between XSX and Switch.
@Ihavenomouthandimust yeah il let you, by the trailers it looks more of the same which isn't bad, but by the looks of it it's an entirely new set of enemies which is good
Just finished Halo Wars 2 so I've now played all the Pre Infinite Halo games and am ready to finally start the Infinite campaign!!!
Now i just have to find some time to play it...
I'm on the 14th mission out of 15 in the Halo Infinite campaign. Have done everything on the map too. found all the skulls, and other collectibles, etc.. Really enjoying the game, though am dreading some of the encounters that I will face on my Legendary run, which I will probably start some time this week, as even on Hardcore some have proven very challenging...
My series S arrived on Thursday, but the missus isn't letting me have it until Xmas, so I've got to wait another week 😭. Reckon the first thing I'll play is The gunk and then Carrion. Don't know much about them tbh, but the covers have enticed me.
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Last night I played some Aliens Fireteam Elite for a short while and had a bit of fun with the guys.
I also started The Gunk last night. It's alright. Easy, looks nice enough, fun to explore.
I'm kindof trying to savor Half-Life Alyx, so I'm not playing more than a chapter per day or two. It is extremely good. I'm past the halfway point now and I just don't want it to end. The level of immersion of unparalleled, and as you would expect from this franchise, the game itself is very well paced and impeccably designed. The barrier of entry is high to say the least, but it's definitely worth it. Easily makes it onto my "one of the best games ever" list.
Also playing Darkwatch on PS2. It's okay. Heard it was a hidden gem, but I'd say it doesn't really hold up. It's not awful, and has a decent aesthetic, but it's probably not worth the time it takes to play it considering how many games there are that are better.
@UltimateOtaku91 I really enjoyed the first one but my ps4 packed up which sucked. Gurellia games are a powerhouse
Still making my way through Dragon Age 2 and then Halo CE on the side. Still really enjoying Dragon Age 2, but Halo CE is really showing that it's a 20 year old game, especially once you get to the middle missions that are really repetitive.
Mario party superstar, forza horizon 5, MK 11, Nier automata.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Daily challenges and puzzle packs as usual.
Bad Piggies (Windows Phone) - Going back to finish this off finally.
Tiki Towers (Windows Phone) - Just getting into this.
Playing Halo Infinite
@UltimateOtaku91 Have you been playing Aliens and Back 4 Blood alone? I was thinking of playing through those games on my own, so I'm wondering how is the single-player experience like? Is it too hard without human players or are the CPUs good?
Halo Infinite for me. I maxed out the battle pass today and completed the weekly too. So this weekend I’m going to have more time for other things. I still need to complete my first run through off the campaign.
PSA: HCS has Twitch drops because it’s the Raleigh open this weekend. The skins are pretty good actually. I was surprised. You get one for each amour core and a weapon skin for the pistol, ar and br. Tomorrow you can get a victory pose too.

@LtSarge aliens fireteam I think is easier with bots and definitely doable and the easy and normal difficulties, Back 4 Blood however is much harder with bots, the first act yiu can probably do with bots but with later acts putting 2-3 bosses in each level can ruin you with bots.
That's why I kinda gave up, I try every now and then to see if anyone joins me but if they don't I play something else
I will finish the gunk as I am already about 3h in and it does not look like it will get harder or more complex. It is nothing to write about but it is like confort food in a way. Then I will keep going on Shadows awakening that I am enjoying more than I was expecting and let's see if I go back to Crash 4 on switch (I have not touched it in at least a couple of weeks)
The Gunk. A great little gem that I knew nothing about before I started.
Some Dead Island on the side so I can move to Dying Light later on.
Halo Infinite (SP), The Gunk, and Kaze and the wild masks. Last night I also downloaded Back to Blood, which I’m gonna give a go now they’ve addressed single player progression. Also may have to dig out my PS4 so I can play this new AC Odyssey cross-over story featuring Kassandra and Eivor.
Some halo infinite, followed by some assassin's creed odyssey free play day, with some dying light on the switch. Really surprised at how well dying light runs, in handheld mode.
Been playing The Gunk and really enjoying it. Also playing a bit of Halo SP and MP. On the side BF 2042.
Halo infinity and AC unity (which is really good btw)
Mad Max, which I'll be done with tonight. Two Point Hospital to chill out and then some Gears of War Ultimate (is that the title), for the first time at 60fps on my little XBox SS! Enjoy your weekend, friends!
@UltimateOtaku91 That's good to know! Aliens definitely sounds more appealing, but I'll still give B4B a go just for the heck of it.
I just got back from a week long work trip. So this weekend I think I’ll jump back into Halo Infinite campaign on XBOneX. And on PS4 I’ll get in some more Gran Turismo Sport online racing. Have a great weekend!
I'm playing Back 4 Blood with my brother and then more Halo Infinite campaign and some Forza Horizon 5 on the side. Once we're done with back 4 blood we're moving onto Aliens Fireteam Elite
Replaying the Halo Infinite campaign and starting Forza Horizon 5.
Still just Halo Infinite.
I'm playing Halo Infinite and Shining Pearl, I might start up The Gunk today as well..
@Clankylad
Enjoy. It's one of my all time favourites. The things you mentioned being some of the reasons.
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth
It just happened but The Gunk too
I'm still totally hooked on Halo Infinite. The campaign is incredible, and I can't wait to play more of it. As soon as that is finished I'll start The Gunk.
Have been playing Halo for hours and it crashed. Loaded it back up and the last 4 hours are just gone!
Honestly bummed right now. Don’t think I’ve got the heart to do that all again right now. FFS 343!
Korgan. I need the achievements for a challenge on TA. It's pretty good. And free as well. Highly recommended.
Planning on finally diving into the Halo Infinite campaign today, been putting it off as I've been busy.
Need to mop up some Halo Infinite achievements, but The Gunk is the one being played over the weekend.
@themightyant That sucks about the lost progress! Were you playing on PC or console?
Valhalla, man is it beautiful
@everynowandben I was on XSX. I was near the end of the game I’d just beaten Escharum and Blademaster 2 really tough/annoying boss battles that are back to back and it crashed after.
I had noticed that the usual “checkpoint saved” notice had said “checkpoint failed” or similar a couple of times (don’t usually read it) but when I restarted it wasn’t the beginning of that interior section but the beginning of the last structure I had left about 4 hours beforehand. 🤬
It was really, really annoying especially as it was the crescendo at the endgame it ruined the narrative momentum.
But in the end I did pick up the controller, determinedly went on a warpath and finished the game quickly. That last boss room is not well balanced, it’s BS Frankly.
Not quite sure where I sit with the game as a whole. Parts of it are 9 or 10/10 others 5 or 6. But I do want to play some more.
I’m chipping away piece by piece at the far cry 6 map and loving every second of it. Fantastic game.
I was sucked in (hehehe) The Gunk. It starts off as a sweet adventure with some discovery, but does eventually throw a bit of challenge in. Finished it and enjoyed my time with it. Love the musical score as well.
Tried ArchVale and while this is a game I will end up stuck in because a boss will be too challenging for me, it plays like a charm. Great little game.
And ended the weekend with another online coop session of It Takes Two. Original, wonderful, joyful.
