343 Industries has finally delivered what we've all been asking for, with no less than six minutes of Halo Infinite campaign footage released as part of an 'Overview' video earlier today, and the reception has been very positive.
Couple that with the numerous multiplayer playtests that have taken place in recent months, and it seems like Halo Infinite could end up becoming something very special indeed. So, now that we've had a chance to lay eyes on the key parts of the game, it's time to ponder whether it will live up to the immense hype.
Is there a chance that we'll be talking about Halo Infinite as a top-tier Halo in a few years' time, or do you think it'll struggle to live up to the incredible legacies of the likes of Halo 3? How do you think it'll compare with the other Halo games that 343 Industries has produced to date? Let us know down in the poll and comments below.

Pre-MCC Collection I considered 2 and Reach my favorites. Recently I'm leaning more towards CE and 3. This just might reach (heh) or exceed CE and 3 to me.
I don’t think it’ll be as good as the original 3 for me personally, but maybe the best 343 have made, I hope so anyway. It’s looking pretty decent.
Im not living with a lot of Halo nostalgia so this will be based purely on the fun factor and quality of the story. This will likely be the best of them all as I'm expecting this to have everything. It's looking like it will have smooth and silky gameplay, amazing graphics, the ability to explore the Halo ring like you've always wanted to in the other's. The multiplayer already is getting rave reviews and it has the same voice actor for the chief and all that great Halo music. King of the hill for me....in my expectations at least. Still have to actually play it.
Halo 2 is my favorite halo campaign.
Topping that will be hard. At least for me.
Looks amazing..!!
Are there any previous Halo campaigns where you play solo, rather than with computer-controlled teammates..??
@GuyinPA75 I’m right there with ya! I feel like the story from this could compare to halo 1 (with the caveat being it’s not completely original and new due to being a sequel, unlike halo 1 which was remarkably new at the time and showed us a mysterious brand new universe).
The only somewhat pessimistic thing I am feeling for this is that it’s going to all take place in one relative area. What I loved about Halo 2 was how it bounced around to a few different spots in the galaxy, followed two awesome protagonists, and showed both sides of the story (kinda like how good movies will flash back and forth between what the good guys are doing and the bad guys are doing).
This campaign will probably be just chiefs experience and will stay in one general (but huge!) area. It’ll still be great! But will be different than a Halo 2 story wise.more like Halo 1
@John117 agreed!!
Just needs to be better then 4 & 5
Campaigns in order from favourite to least favourite is; 1, 3, 4, 2, 5, Reach, ODST. Order would be totally different ranking the MP
I shall play halo infinite first then let the game have future expansions through dlc and then decide.
Hopefully it’s the best Halo ever, but I’m sort of expecting it to be simply the best 343 era Halo game.
A alot of faith in this one? Nothing will beat the original trilogy and from what has come out after it nothing has come remotely close to them
I think it could be the best. I don’t think it will be it’s complete game for a year or more. With forge, multi, and an open world campaign it’s replayability will be very high. Launching this to end the Xbox one era, to kick off this generation with Halo and coming to pc and mobile. It’s a huge launch and what I’ve played and seen I am keen to think this could be the best.
I can't decide which is my favorite Halo from the original trilogy. They're all fantastic.
I hope Infinite will be up there, but if 343 manages to deliver a multiplayer as solid as 5's (which seems very likely) and a single player campaign that's actually good and replayable, it will be a win.
@John117
Oh, that's good to know!
I guess I must have tried Halo Reach, then - where your name is number six or something, and you go looking for people with a bunch of computer-controlled teammates??
I'm in the minority here, but I really liked Halo 5. The gunplay in that game was excellent and it's hard to go back to the older games after playing that for an extended period.
Infinite might become the best game in the series, not just because of the multiplayer modes that will be popular but also because of the re-worked campaign that seems long and fun. However, for nostalgic reasons, some people will have different favourite entries depending on the story and characters. What I like about Infinite is that it doesn't break the formula like, for instance, Resident Evil 7, but 343's new game seem to include what makes Halo beloved and then add some more. Yes, 343 Industries have been a mess and had to be aided but I'm talking about the game.
Assuming we're talking about the CAMPAIGN I think this will comfortably be the best by 343 but behind some of the best by Bungie. (I'd happily take that! As long as it's not worse. If it's better than that all the better)
1. Halo 3
2. Halo Reach
3. Halo
Infinite (Hopefully somewhere in here 3-5)
4. Halo 2
5. Halo 4
6. Halo ODST
7. Halo 5
