Although Xbox Game Pass may have slowed down a little bit in 2024, we've still seen a huge number of incredible games added to the service over the past 12 months, including some extremely notable first-party titles as well!
In recent weeks alone, the likes of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Stalker 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 have joined the service, and the rest of the year has delivered plenty of highlights too.
So, just like we did with our recent votes for Pure Xbox Game of the Year, we're picking a top five ranking system where you can tell us your favourite Xbox Game Pass titles of 2024 in order. The full list is absolutely massive, so we're narrowing it down a bit, but you can always use the "Other" option if there's something missing that you wanted to vote for. Just make sure you tell us about it (and how many points it would get) in the comments below.
As a reminder, here's the complete list of Xbox Game Pass games from 2024:

I played much less game pass this year than in the last 5 years, scrolling this list definitely confirms that. My 2 most played game pass games this year by far were remnant 2 and diablo 4 both of which I bought long before they were added to game pass. I did play through Dead Island 2 with a group of friends but it wasn't anything special. Lords of the Fallen started strong but had a very disappointing ending. Metal Slug Tactics was great but it's small in scope. I bought way more games in 2024 than I had in years - Infinite Wealth, Space Marine 2, Dragons Dogma 2, etc.
Next year should be a return to me abusing game pass with all the RPGs coming.
I mean, I think Indy is pretty easily my favorite. Jedi Survivor was a great addition too. Also, not on the list, but Humanity was a pretty underappreciated title as well.
I mean my indie game of the year… Brotato
Looking at this list GPU has certainly delivered this year. I had a hard time choosing only 5 games.
Missing Another Crab’s Treasure from the list.
I only played Resident Evil 2 and 3, the rest got added before 2024. Both great games though, especially 2.
I used the money I’d have thrown away renting a metric ton of crap I’d never touch to instead buy outright the select über high quality titles I knew I would enjoy (and did, immensely). Now I own them in perpetuity, on physical discs that cannot be taken from me or altered against my will. If indeed there was something I was on the fence about even after doing due diligence, there’s always the ‘get gamepass on steep discount for a month to try it, then smash the cancel button like there’s no tomorrow’ route.
There are many good games here. Chants of Sennaar was a little game I enjoyed a lot. Also, I feel Immortals of Aveum deserves a lot more love that it has received, I though it was a pretty solid and fun game overall (only thing I found problematic was the M&K mapping implementation and they should fix it...)
The only one on the list I played was Diablo, which didn't live up to its predecessors for me. F1 23 was the only other I played from this year. Just wasn't feeling it at all.
@Balaam_ good grief, give it a bloody rest.
It was a good year for gamepass very good games the value for money is definitely there!
Hellblade 2
Stalker 2
Indiana Jones
Control Ultimate Edition
Dead Island 2
Black Ops 6
The Quarry
Assasins Creed Valhalla
The Callisto Protocol
Flight Sim 2024 and on and on the list goes....
Gamepass has had a fantastic 2024 nothing out there comes close to it
1. Indy
2. Nine Sols
3. Kunitsugami
4. Hauntii
5. Metal Slug
Another crabs treasure
The big games are all pretty obvious and will get a lot of votes but I’d like to highlight 3 smaller games that perhaps won’t get as much love
Indy
Diablo 4
P3R
The Case of the Golden Idol
Neon White
Black ops 6
Flight sim 24
Mlb the show 24
Indy
Diablo 4
Yep highest percentage Indy 22% and what I’ve been saying for years.
Big quality AAA, that’s all the winning formula Xbox needs.
Second COD with 12% another big quality AAA.
And importantly both games releasing in very good condition with not many bugs.
Big quality AAA will always win.
Keep em coming.
I played so many games I would not have tried or ended up buying. Still wakes deep, black ops6 when new out, aliens, assassin creed. Still so many not got too. So much value for money for me personally
You're missing too many of the games I played for me to be able to press the 'vote' button again.
5 points: Neon White
4 points: Flock
3 points: Little Kitty Big City
2 points: Brotato
1 point: Botany Manor
NHL 24. Love me some hockey.
@Balaam_ Wait? You didn't enjoy the 98% of the game pass library that is basically indie game boy games, jumping over lava pits, that you played back in 1989?
I mean that makes game pass the greatest deal in the world, right?
@Balaam_ Physical isn't worth it, it might be if you only have a PlayStation and you are stuck with being locked into their expensive store for Everything Digital , plus only have an expensive subscription service that only gives old games but Xbox is totally different.
@Balaam_ Xbox sent out lifetime GP stats so I did the math. I have spent $0.32/hour of gaming on GP and have paid less than $4 per a game. You could not be more wrong about GP.
I went with:
1. Control
2. Dead Island 2
3. Diablo IV
4. Resident Evil 2
5. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor
I only voted for games I have played, and I didn't play a single one of them on the Game Pass. Every one of the games I voted for I pre-ordered and bought long before they went on Game Pass...
On the other hand, @RBRTMNZ, this is a complete list of every game that I have bought this year:
Prince of Persia
Warhammer: Chaos Gate
Oddworld: Soulstorm
King Arthur: A Knight's Tale
Dragon's Dogma 2
Capes
The Black Prince: Crown Wars
Trine Enhanced Edition
Trine 2
Trine 3
Trine 4
Ghostrunner 2
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew
Warhammer: Rogue Trader
Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Classified: France 44
Clash: Artifacts of Chaos
Divinity 2: DKS
Shadows of the Damned: Remastered
Atomic Heart
Lies of P
Life is Strange: True Colours
Life is Strange 2
The Hong Kong Massacre
Dragon Age: The VeilGuard
New World: Aternum
Baldur's Gate 3
Space Marine 2
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Collector's Edition
The Bannishers
Baltro
Games played on the Game Pass:
Hellblade 2
So how much you actually get out of Game Pass is entirely subjective...
@Fiendish-Beaver I’m not against buying games. I’m not sure where you got that idea. I buy games. That’s doesn’t mean GP is not an amazing deal that’s silly to pass up on if you own an Xbox and play a lot of games. Just in that list you posted I can see enough GP games that you could have instead paid for a whole year of GP and still have money left over to buy those games in a year when they are on sale. So by utilizing GP you could have played all those same games, owned all those games, saved money, and had access to hundreds of other games.
@Balaam_ man they took away my Hunt Showdown disc from me. I own a lot of physical but the devs can indeed update it so your disc no longer provides you anything on it. They at least gave me free Blood Bonds to use in the next gen update Hunt 1896 that was the equivalent price of the game. You need to buy a second Xbox that's never online to make sure your games don't get offlined via an update. I still buy physical only for Nintendo Switch since they always shutdown their eShops although have a lot of digital for small games.
No, I wasn't suggesting that you were against buying games, @RBRTMNZ, I was merely pointing out that how good, or how much use you get out of Game Pass is entirely subjective.
I bought the Collector's Edition of Indiana Jones, which comes with a globe, so obviously, I wasn't going to be able to play that on the Game Pass. And there were a couple of others that I didn't have chance to play whilst they were on Game Pass so I bought them when they came off. Atomic Heart, for example.
I have absolutely no doubt that I could find games I'd happily play on Game Pass, but I tend to buy games that I want, and then occasionally they subsequently end up on Game Pass, but I wasn't to know that would happen when I bought the game. I do think Game Pass is still good value for money, even if I don't personally get that much use out of it...
Oops I meant to vote for case of the golden idol, but I was looking under C! Great game. DLC was way too hard tho.
Octopath 2, persona 3R, dungeons of hinterberg, inscryption, Eiyuden chronicles… it was a pretty good year!!
@Fiendish-Beaver you have pretty good taste!!
@Vordus good choices. You have a more cultured taste. It’s too bad they can’t find an easy way to just populate the list with every single 2024 game pass release. I know it’s a long list, but a lot of good indies get left out.
@themightyant all three great. Good choices. To me, the bread and butter of game pass is stuff like this.
@jesse_dylan totally agree. Without Game Pass I would buy many of top AAA games that are included but the real bonus of the service is being able to discover all these other games risk free at no added cost. I probably never would have played Botany Manor or Chants of Senaar without it.Still Wakes the deep I probably would have as I’ve long been a fan of the Chinese Room.
Game Pass widens my gaming which is amazing
1 point to Indiana Jones
2 to Harold Halibut
3 to Star Wars Jedi Survivor
4 to COD Black Ops 6
And the 5 points go to: Chants of Sennaar! <3
Indiana Jones by a country mile - not had this much fun with a game for a long time, and it nails the Indy atmosphere and mood perfectly.
@themightyant and in the meantime, the AAA and AA games I played more than pay for game pass for a year for me. I wouldn’t have paid $70 for Indy, but probably at least $30, and $25 for Octopath 2, and probably $50-60 for persona 3R. And of course I would have been waiting much longer to play them.
(Not to mention Microsoft rewards buys me probably 4 full games every year…!)
You guys really missed the mark on your Indiana Jones and the Great Circle review. I know it’s an opinion (from my side as well), but that game is definitely better than 6/10. You guys were among the lowest review scores, if not the next to lowest. Find a better reviewer that actually likes good video games.
