Star Wars Outlaws is officially out in the wild, with the team over at Massive Entertainment bringing the first-ever open world Star Wars game to Xbox today, August 30. We've already been playing this one in the run up to its public launch - and we've been very impressed with the game so far.
Outlaws strips away just enough of that typical Ubisoft open world busywork for us to really sink our teeth into exploration here. After playing the game for upwards of 20 hours for our written review, all we could think is that Outlaws absolutely nails that Star Wars vibe.
To top things off, the folks over at Digital Foundry have also given this one their tech-y stamp of approval, noting that Ubisoft has delivered "a well-optimised console effort" with Star Wars Outlaws - featuring 30, 40 and 60FPS modes for players to enjoy.
With all that in mind, we want to know if you are buying Star Wars Outlaws yet. August is typically pretty quiet when it comes to big releases, so we can see it being quite tempting for many. But, has it sunk its hype-laden claws into you yet?
Let us know in the poll down below.

I've been playing it since the 26th after moving to New Zealand. 😂
Really fun so far. Haven't found any glitches or bugs. I can't complain. It's very different to other Ubisoft games, and that can be bad or good, but mainly depends on you.
Hope it sells well so we can have another one.
@Lup NZ thanks you for your service
Ubisoft games always go on sale quicker then other studios that's were ill strike not sure about ubisoft+ to be honest
No. Not immediately anyway. Too many reviewers I like put it in the 4-6 out of 10 category. Too many another better games to play first, but I might circle back to it in due course.
Absolutely not, I couldn't be less interested in a game than a SW Ubi game.
Was very interested before the reviews etc.
not a chance now I’m afraid.
I'll be buying it, but on PS5.
I'll buy the Ultimate Gold Deluxe edition for $10 on Black Friday if I want it.
The Gold edition is just too expensive I'm afraid and will be waiting on a decent deal, did the same with Avatar.
My wife is picking it up and installing it so it will be ready when I get off work.
I’ve been playing the Gold edition since Tuesday 🙂 Really enjoying it so far. Don’t know if I’ve just been lucky but haven’t had no bugs either, played around 6-7 hours.
Eh, I'm not that interested in this.
Maybe if it ever goes on a very deep sale one day in the far future on PC (like $5), I could be tempted.
My copy arrived Saturday (only buy physical for steelbooks). I was going to sell it after a few days while i can still get a good price and then buy it digital when the price drops in the future. Not sure what to do now as i am really enjoying it, it has got its issues but i would so far give it a solid 8.
Ubisoft AND Disney Star Wars?
Count me allllllll the way out till it hits the bargain bin!
Like many I really cannot stand Ubisoft open world games (gimme another Rayman please 🥺)
Will get on sale. My backlog is just too long at the moment.
Picked it up on PC late yesterday and have been playing several hours. It is a lot of fun.
I'm not keen on the colours in places - can look a bit washed out. I really like the characters.
The soundscape inc soundtrack is fab. Quite true to the films.
It is a bit of a stealth-fest, but lots of fun gunplay too.
No bugs to speak of. Seems pretty stable.
All in all, I'm pleased with it
I may well buy it, but it will probably be after the game has significantly dropped in price, and after I have seen the quality of the DLC. Ubisoft asked too much in the beginning, and their greed has cost them my money. £120 is simply too much. I can wait, especially now that we have seen the reviews...
@Fiendish-Beaver £120 is outrageous. I see the same price for AC Shadows coming up, so looks like the norm.
i can do without the artbook, a couple of extra costumes and a side mission.
If I still like it in 2 year's time, I'll pick up the season pass when it is 90% off
It's a heck of a lot of money, @Isca, and whereas I usually pre-order the Ultimate Edition of game that I'm interested in, I actually chose not to this time simply because if I pay that sort of money, it becomes acceptable, and Ubisoft will keep doing it. And of course, in the case of Ubisoft, they are renowned for giving steep discounts for their games within a matter of a couple of months, so, had the game been awarded stellar, reviews, my FOMO would still have saved me money.
As it stands, I get the impression that I would probably enjoy the game, but that I'm probably best off waiting until all the DLC is out, and I can do everything in one hit, because it does not sound like a game that I would necessarily wish to play through more than once. Thus, I feel like I have probably made the right decision...
Nope, not even on a big discount at some point in the future.
I tried it via Ubisoft + and it's one of the most boring games I have ever played.
It has some great environments and the shooting is good but that's all I have to say that's positive.
I say the shooting is good but a lot of the time the game doesn't even give you the chance to blast your way out of a bad situation. You will face a lot of stealth missions and if you fail the stealth part it immediately fails the mission no option to try to shoot your way out and you will be reset to mission start.
To make matters worse sometimes you fail the mission because you get stuck on scenery, nix your pet companion gets in the way. If an NPC alerts on finding a body why can I not move or hide any bodies I might leave behind. The stealth missions basic 101 and it's not in this stealth mission focused game.
The writing is awful and cliche. I would be hard pushed to tell you the names of anyone I met as they are immediately forgettable.
I put 15 hours in and I had to really force the last 5 in the hope it got better. For me it didn't and I deleted it.
I am using the rest of my Ubisoft + month to play AC Mirage which does actually give player agency on how you do missions unlike Outlaws.
Marmite! A great love it or hate it… next we can discuss Coke and Pepsi…
I will sooner or later but I’ll get it on my PS5.
Subbed to Ubisoft plus to play it and I'm not really enjoying it glad i never bought it full price.
@AlwaysPlaying Pepsi > Coke
More hot garbage from ubislop
I'm not the target audience for this, so no.
I haven't got around to Prince of Persia or AC Mirage yet, so with this and AC Shadows coming out, I was thinking a few months of subscription to ubisoft plus might be a half decent idea.
@M20B25 Your wife is awesome!!!
I'm going for Ubisoft+ after the new Assassin's Creed is released. I will play both in one month and if i really love one of them i'm gona buy it when the price drops a bit. 70+$ for a game is way more than what they worth imo...
Not with these great other games on the horizon. Maybe next year, when it's way cheaper.
Off course I will.
Waiting for my copy right now ..
Got me to get a Ubisoft+ sub for a month or two.
A friend is spotting me a copy for 2-3 weeks since he has no free time.
If it’s good I’ll decide how to proceed. 😁
I like Star Wars kinda, but I don’t like it enough to waste time on a mid ubi open world game. If I wanted to play one of those, I’d probably enjoy one of the assassins creed games on game pass more.
@Kezelpaso Just out of curiosity, when you pick "other" you get a little box to add a comment. Now I thought that would be added as a comment to the thread, but that would appear to not be the case, so I was wondering what it was really for?
By the way, the comment I added to the little box was that I subbed to Ubisoft+ for a month to play this and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
Definitely buying it, but not on xbox.
As per PJs review on this site, the game nails the vibe and atmosphere, and thats what I want most of all. I may wait a little as Wukong is taking me a lot of time to get through!

I got it on Ubisoft+ on PC. It's alright... Not a massive fan of the forced stealth, some bits about the game are cool though. Just makes me want a proper RPG Star Wars in the Bethesda mould though... But yeah I've put about 11 hours in and it's a solid 6-7. I plan to finnish it throughout my month of plus then it's only set me back £15. Probably won't buy it unless some game changing DLC gets added in future, although I will say it's held my attention more than Jedi Survivor did.

I’ll wait for sale which won’t be long. Also the bug should be patched by then too
Playing it on Ubi +
For anyone thinking about playing the game it is more of a sneaky platformer than an open world game. It nails a lot of Star Wars stuff really well and has decent side activities in form of different gambling and such.
Speeder racing and driving is at the moment atrocious. I really hope they improve on that later on. Shooting works and Nix is a really fun as soon as you learn to use his quick moves. Skills and upgrades has nice feel to it that makes you try different things.
Also. The game is every now and then absolutely Beautiful if you just take your time. Most of the time decent.
@Balta666 watch em bring out an open world Rayman 🤣
@Decimateh not even kid about that 😂
Current stats..
Major US retailer, over 900 high traffic stores dense populated areas... Combined ps/xbox preorders... 150 units for all >900 stores
To put in perspective, example... Zelda release 2023 15 months ago... same retailer, same >900 stores, same time right before release...also 150...but PER STORE...
"game over man (ubi), game over" (RIP Bill Paxton the legend)
It looks interesting, but I'll wait for a good discount as it's a Ubisoft title so I'll likely get at least 40% off in a year. I'm interested to see how Ubi+ will affect their games coming to Game Pass.
