They didn’t really finish or polish the last zone much, so I was kind of expecting this to be similarly unpolished. Rome and Giza were great. The rest was kinda jank.
@johndoe89 Gen Z is interested in the NES and Game Boy; both of those are pre-16-bit. Even Gen alpha is interested. It just depends on the game and system. For some of these tho, yeah, the gap is a little too wide.
I enjoyed the game, but it got buggier and less well designed as it went. Not sure I feel like returning for dlc. But we’ll see. Curious what reviews will say too.
DLC for game pass stuff doesn’t usually go on sale.
@themightyant it’s Xbox, and PlayStation before that, that reversed it… in playstations case they literally reversed. It was supposed to be O (true/“maru”) for confirm and X (false/“batsu”) for cancel. Yet here with are with X being accept.
I agree it’s annoying that they’re not all just the same though. But Xbox was just following PlayStations lead. And Nintendo has kept it traditional.
A person can always charge their own batteries, altho I’d prefer usb charging built in.
More importantly, I hope it isn’t so damn clicky next time, and I hope it doesn’t give my right hand a cramp after 30 minutes. It was a real step back from the xb1 controller.
@Balaam_ yeah some of their headlines make things sound exclusive to game pass, or to Xbox, when they’re not. I get that this is a console specific website but it’s still kind of jarring.
Is adventures of Eliot an action game? Not super excited about that if so. And Octopath 0 is not being developed by team asano, so… kinda skeptical of both of these. Hopefully they’re great tho.
I’m surprised the reviews were even that high. The writing was on the wall from the beginning that it was gonna be kind of a cozy disaster embarrassment. Too bad because it’s a decent concept
I played starfield once and had a really fun 140/150 hours or so. But it wasn’t something I wanted to play again. I don’t get how people can just play the same game forever.
@PushButtons Did you even read what I wrote? Like I said, some make money; some do not. We can all think of several high profile failures along with high profile money-makers. Same goes for expansions.
@PushButtons Well that's a bit of a generalization. Some do; some don't. I could just as easily say "live service games don't make money; that's been proven," but we both know some make a ton of money, and some fail dismally.
Activision has a huge back catalog, as evidenced by the first wave. It includes all the old Sierra and infocom adventure classics. Some really need a keyboard to be properly enjoyed, however. Others work ok with a controller and no mouse.
Some choices were odd tho, like opting for the incredibly slow sega cd version of Willy beamish (I guess because it has voice acting… but long load times and worse graphics)

Re: Xbox Demo Fest Returns Next Week, First Four Games Announced
Mina the Hollower looks badass
Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Game Pass Addition In August 2025?
Weak month for me personally
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From Xbox At Tokyo Game Show Next Month?
I want to see Japanese games.
Re: 13 'Quirky Classic' Games From The 1980s Are Heading To Xbox In Attic Archive
@AlwaysPlaying yeah. I’d like to try it out. A lot of people are interested in video game history.

Re: 13 'Quirky Classic' Games From The 1980s Are Heading To Xbox In Attic Archive
Do they actually work with the controller, or do you end up needing a keyboard?
Re: Talking Point: It's Not On Xbox Game Pass, So Will You Be Buying The Indiana Jones DLC?
I enjoyed the game, but it got buggier and less well designed as it went. Not sure I feel like returning for dlc. But we’ll see. Curious what reviews will say too.
DLC for game pass stuff doesn’t usually go on sale.
Re: Indie Dev Frustrated Over Hollow Knight: Silksong Reveal, Delays New Game Because Of It
It’s been delayed before too. I don’t mind. The demo was great, and I think the previous delay was used to make the game better.
I can certainly understand their frustration. For me, I don’t know if I’ll even play silksong, but I’ll definitely play demon school.
Re: Starfield Dev Teases New DLC, Free Updates And 'Features Players Have Been Asking For'
I enjoyed my 150 hours with it when it came out, but it’s not like I kept playing it after it was over… I don’t usually go back to games.
Kind of wish I’d just waited. But, I had a great time!

Re: Hyperkin Is Going Full-PS5 With Its New 'Competitor' Xbox Controller
Ugh. I wish someone would make a wireless option that’s good and has a budget price.
Re: Roundup: All The Big Reveals From Xbox's First Gamescom 2025 Livestream
Triangle Strategy should be game pass at this point
Re: Xbox Announces Big List Of Games For Its Two Gamescom Broadcasts Next Week
I see I’m not missing much unless they announce ff tactics for game pass.
Re: Poll: Should The Next Xbox Controller Support AA Batteries Again?
A person can always charge their own batteries, altho I’d prefer usb charging built in.

Re: GameSir's Special Wireless G7 Pro For Xbox Is Now Available To Pre-Order
Would be nice to get a 3rd party wireless pad that doesn’t cost more than the 1st party one…

@Balaam_ yeah some of their headlines make things sound exclusive to game pass, or to Xbox, when they’re not. I get that this is a console specific website but it’s still kind of jarring.
Re: Stalker 2 Is Getting An Engine Overhaul This Year On Xbox Game Pass
2026: stalker 2 at 100%
Also 2026?: stalker 2 leaves game pass
Re: Seven New Games Have Joined Xbox Retro Classics In August So Far
Colonels Bequest is great. I’m happy to see Microsoft doing something with their properties instead of sitting on them.
I do wish they somehow allowed them to be played locally. But if you have decent and unlimited internet, most stuff works ok.
Some of their choices are a little weird.
Re: Xbox President 'Delighted' To Join Board Of Directors At Tyson Foods
Yuck. I hope she gets Tyson foods to implement some ethics.
Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (August 12)
Two games that were already on there 😆

Re: Here's What Might Leave Xbox Game Pass In September 2025
That’s a lot of stuff I still want to play! Yikes.
Re: These 30+ Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (August 11-15)
I’d like to play viewfinder. A shame that one isn’t game pass, after waiting all this time for it.
Re: 8BitDo Unveils Its First Xbox Wireless Controller To Celebrate Rare's 40th Anniversary
Jeez. Can they do one that isn’t themed and isn’t $90 please? This is nuts. I’ve been using a wired controller for a year now.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3's Latest Update Targets Various Xbox-Specific Issues
There are still audio delay bugs after all this time too. Wonder if those got fixed.
Re: Square Enix Announces Two Brand-New RPGs For Xbox Series X|S

Re: Bethesda Has 'Exciting Things Planned' For Starfield As Beta Update Goes Live
Hard to be excited about something so vague.

Re: Three Games Are Available This Week With Xbox Game Pass (July 8-11)
Minami Lane looks interesting.
The Ascent was already on there for an age. Odd to see it come back.
Re: 'Ultimate Chicken Horse' Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (July 3)
I don’t have friends.

Re: Rockstar's First Red Dead Online Update In Years Channels 'Undead Nightmare' Energy
@PushButtons Just because it makes money doesn't mean it's not hot garbage.
Expansions for GTA5 and Red Dead 2 would also have made money, but that's not the path their shareholders went with.
Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (July 2-15)
@Kaloudz I’ve wondered about this too
Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (July 2-15)
High on life is coming back? 😂 weird
The ascent used to be on there too. This is mostly old games considering those and the ones moving to standard.
Which is fine
Re: Six Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Early July 2025
Golden idol is amazing. Play it.
I need to play magical delicacy and tchia. It seems like they just got here!

Re: Rockstar's First Red Dead Online Update In Years Channels 'Undead Nightmare' Energy
They don’t bother with anything unless it’s live service garbage anymore.
Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In July 2025
Might be a dull month for me. But that’s ok. I’m behind.
That said, wheel world might be awesome.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Xbox Game Pass?
Overrated third-party series that Sony pretended was first-party and kids drank the kool aid
Re: Roundup: All The Xbox Reveals From The June 2025 Capcom Showcase
No breath of fire, mega man, or Sakura
Re: Volcano Princess Arrives On Xbox Game Pass To 'Overwhelmingly Positive' Reviews
Looking forward to this one
Re: Five New Games Added To Retro Classics On Xbox Game Pass
Heart of China is the only one I’m familiar with. Glad to see them doing something with the old sierra catalog.
Re: Reaction: Xbox's Next-Gen News Is Exciting, But It Also Leaves More Questions Than Answers

Re: Rooftops And Alleys: The Parkour Game Is Off To A Flying Start On Xbox Series X|S
There’s some parkour girl game that just came out too. I don’t think it’s this one! 😂
