I will give it a go eventually but at the moment I have 7 games on the go at various stages of completion. That is about my limit both time wise & mental bandwith so need to clear some of those first.
@Kaloudz the parity is the reason that Ray Tracing was dropped and received no further support from Mojang. They wanted something that works on all their bedrock platforms and yes that includes last gen consoles & mobile (I believe the only exception being the OG switch.)
Taking that into consideration I think they have done a decent job with vibrant visuals and set the game up with a good foundation.
In the near future I expect we will see mods appear (paid & free) that will push the visual eye candy much further on each platform.
I have been on a bit of an old school D&D vibe this past week after playing through Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition on gamepass. So will be starting Baldur's Gate 2 over the weekend.
Also been playing Neverwinter Night Enhanced Edition on my PS5 and while that is a bit more clunky I am still enjoying my time. (Has me excited to get NWN 2 EE when that is released next month.)
I went the premium upgrade route and used my points to get money off that. It cost me £20 for 2 dlc & early access with base game via gamepass.
I will likely buy base game in a future sale which is something i tend to do when i get these premium upgrade options.
Yes the premium edition is expensive (UK £89.99 with base game only at £69.99), however there are options to ease that cost on xbox at least. The most obvious is gamepass or going the upgrade route if you want the dlc too.
I haven't not enjoyed an Obsidian game and I dont expect that to change with The Outer Worlds 2.
@Fiendish-Beaver while Funcom seem to want to avoid the term Its an mmo. I believe its pretty solo friendly and most things are achievable on your own. In end game I think there is an element of pvp, avoidable pvp but the risk is still there however small (I think you lose resources / inventory but keep equipped gear if you are player killed.)
I wish they had gone the Conan Exiles route so you could have private servers as I am so done dealing with mmo player nonsense these days.
I got Space Marines 2 cheap in a sale and still was disappointed. I don't expect to ever play this unless I am really really struggling for something to play.
Or you could use the premium upgrade option if you have Gamepass and get all the dlc and early access for £30 (for me £20 as I used some points for £10 off.)
Wait on a sale and then buy the base game if you really want to own it (this is what I am doing in anycase.)
Coming in 2026 was certainly the theme of all the showcase this year including Xbox. Its also why I have rated all of them below average pretty much.
With Xbox specifically I was also disappointed with the lack of news about some of the previously announced big hitter such as State of Decay 3 & Fable among others.
Good job I have The Outer Worlds 2 to look forward to at least.
Only The Outer Worlds 2 was of interest but I was already a fan before the show. Lots of game that no doubt will appeal to others but are not exciting to me. Anything with a 2026 or no release date I straight up ignore.
Titan Quest 2 is the only one there I know I will play.
Even with that one it's hard to be too hyped as they are only committing to Steam early access this year so there is no guarantee I will see it on console anytime soon.
@gravelmonkey i am playing tainted grail but not over this weekend so I didnt mention it. Its still a bit rough so waiting on more patches is a wise choice. Performance aside its a fantastic rpg though.
Finished up the new dlc for Atomfall this morning. Its more Atomfall which is good but it really does feel like they ripped this out of the main game just to have a dlc to sell. 7/10
Will be making a start on Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. Its good for me to play this again as its a timely reminder that I don't need cutting edge high fidelity visuals to enjoy a game.
Give me an intriguing story, exploration plus a decent sense of progression & I am good to go. Having a miniature giant space hamster helps too, GO FOR THE EYES BOO!
On PS5 I will probably finish up with Destiny 2 The Final Shape. It was ok but yeah it hasn't blown my socks off and glad I waited for it to come to PS Plus rather than buy it.
@Kezelpaso I haven't forgotten the Cyberpunk launch but I have moved on from it. CDPR made it good in the end so I am not going to continually hold it over their heads.
Much the same with No Man's Sky & Hello Games. They also screwed up their launch, big time. Hello Games also made good on their promise too.
So no not forgotten but when a company earns their redemption its time to move on. Life is too short to hold grudges especially over silly stuff like gaming.
I watched the presentation and it was clear to me that this was a tech demo only set in the Witcher 4 to showcase Unreal Engine not a representative demo of the game. Its similar to the first Ciri trailer in the sense it sets a mood rather than expectation of the actual game.
A lot of this "controversy" feels like its just being used as an excuse to throw stones at CDPR for reasons. Perhaps folks are still bitter about Cyberpunk or something.
Looking forward to .... reading the Pure Xbox summary of the event to find the one or two games I have some interest in without sitting through a bunch of nonsense & waffle 👍😉
Dull, boring & uninspired game play with a nice visual aesthetic. Personally I was very disappointed with this game and even for free I wouldn't try playing it again.
Never needed extra storage on Series X but I might have been tempted more if I stuck with the S.
At the moment I have 14 games installed ranging from 180Gb down to 2Gb in size and I still have about 200 gb space if I need it without needing to delete anything. Even then for me it's easy to just delete & download as necessary with good internet speeds that I have these days.
14 games is more than enough to keep me well entertained and I just don't see any need for these expensive storage expansions for my circumstances.
On Series X I am playing the new season in Division 2. Finished the new Brooklyn dlc already, its ok for the cost but nothing spectacular. Have been surprised to see log in queues which I guess is due to gamepass but its good to see honestly for such an old game.
The Final Shape for Destiny 2 dropped on PS Plus so I will make my annual 2 week visit to the game over on PS5. I played a little this morning and it quickly reminded me why I only play for 2 weeks .
Its such an obtuse game with a quest narrative that feels like they are just picking random words from a dictionary and jamming them together. I enjoy the shooting part of Destiny 2 and try to tolerate the the other stuff.
I really don't care about how well a particular business does when it comes to gaming. I just look for whichever service offers the best value (gamepass), go with that & enjoy myself. That's the end of my involvement as far as I am concerned.
They don't pay me to balance the books or worry about future financials so I don't.
Ignore it completely and wait for Pure Xbox to post a summary so I can go and watch the bits that I find interesting without having to sit through stuff that isn't.
Well that's something i haven't seen for .... well ever. Just jumped in to play the new dlc and there was a queue to get on the server, 3304 position in queue.
@-taco nope no cross play across any platform. It's one of the biggest QoL features players have asked for over the years.
Given the current circumstances at Ubisoft & the division dev team also working on Division 3 in addition to making content for Division 2 there is pretty much a zero chance of it being added in Div 2.
The latest dlc Battle for Brooklyn also drops today at a reasonable £12.99. It supposedly adds 8-10 hours of new story missions. It also has a skip to level 40 but I wouldn't use that personally unless you already played through the game and want to create a new character.
Also the new season content launches today which is available to everyone. This comes with a bunch of new gear and weapons via the free track on the battlepass (plus a bunch of cosmetics on the paid version if that's your thing )
All in all a good time for Division 2 players old & new.
Mostly Titan Quest after getting it in a sale. I enjoy Path of Exile 1 & 2, Diablo 4 but its very refreshing to play an arpg that isnt constantly trying to sell you a battle pass or the latest cosmetic bundle.
Titan Quest is old, the ui & controls are wonky but heck despite that its still a lot of fun. I often think the D4's & PoE's we have now forget that part of the equation in their rush to sell you stuff or be the hardest hardcore that ever hardcored.
I am also chipping away at Doom, doing a chapter every couple of days or so but not in any real rush with it. Its a fun time but for some reason the game just makes me tired.
Just goes to show hardcore anything be it souls like, pvp or whatever are the minority. Though they usually whine the most & loudest when things are changed to appeal to a wider audience.
I really don't understand the objections either you all can still play at bash your head against the wall difficulty if that is what you want. Other folks can make their own choice to suit them.
Owlcat Games are one of the best crpg dev teams out there. They haven't released a game yet that I haven't enjoyed or put hundreds of hours into over multiple play throughs
Will certainly be keeping an eye on Dark Heresy for sure
SW BF2 is a game I go back to a few times a year. I tend to play for a couple of weeks & mostly have a good time before moving on again.
I couldn't play this or similar style games all the time as it would eventually lead to boredom but an occasional visit when the mood strikes its a lot of fun.
@Kienda That's fair enough. Your sanity is going to be constantly tested though as you are always going to be operating with woefully incomplete information at best.
I keep seeing this in the sales and I must admit there is some temptation to buy it just to see how bad it is. In this recent sale I ended up getting Titan Quest (& all dlc) instead but I did hover over Gollum for a few seconds before.
@Fiendish-Beaver Atomfall, Avowed, South of Midnight.
As to the order its all personal preference but for me Atomfall was so refreshingly British that it put it over the other two by a hair. Avowed just edges out South of Midnight as it offers more variety in game play, combat & environments.
All are very good games though and well worth your time.

Re: Review: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition - A Proper 360 Throwback On Xbox Game Pass
@Ricky-Spanish Good of you to offer but I think I will stick to getting my WH40K fix from Rogue Trader & in the future Dark Heresy
Re: Poll: What Were Your Top 5 Reveals At The Xbox Games Showcase 2025?
There isn't 5 i could pick.
So my list: The Outer Worlds 2

I got Space Marines 2 cheap in a sale and still was disappointed. I don't expect to ever play this unless I am really really struggling for something to play.
Re: Talking Point: How Much Do You Think The ROG Xbox Ally Will Cost?
I don't game anywhere but at home so handhelds are a bit of a waste of time to me no matter what the cost is.

Dying Light: The Beast is the only thing in the entire show on any platform that looks interesting to me.
