What makes it worse is that the Digital Deluxe Edition — which is what you need to gain early access — costs exactly the same on Xbox as it does on PS5 in the United States, and here in the UK it actually costs more on Xbox.
Here's a breakdown of the costs and what you get with each pre-order edition of the game on Xbox and PS5:
-Hiss Corruption Outfit
-Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact
-Hiss Corruption Outfit
-Occult Outfit
-Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact
- Hiss Corruption Outfit
- Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact
- Main Game
- Digital Artbook
- Original Soundtrack
- Untapped Artifact (Wallet)
- Starter Resource Bundle
- AWE Mission Outfit
Pre-Order CONTROL Resonant Digital Deluxe Edition now and get 48 hour early access starting 22nd September 2026.

We understand that deals are made for exclusivity all the time, including on Xbox, but denying players of early access and still asking them to pay the same amount (or more in some cases) just doesn't add up.
By all means go and pre-order the Control Resonant Digital Deluxe Edition on Xbox if you want to — you'll still get some great goodies included with it — but personally, I think I'm going to stick with the Standard Edition.
You can check out the new trailer for Control Resonant from last night's State of Play event down below.
