We've talked quite a bit recently about how a lot of Activision games still haven't arrived on Xbox Game Pass yet, particularly when it comes to the Call of Duty series, but we might be getting three more in the near future.
This is according to the Microsoft Store on PC, which has added "included with Game Pass" banners to Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2.
You can see an example of the World at War Game Pass banner in the image below:

Of course, it's not uncommon for Microsoft and Xbox to make mistakes with stuff like this, so don't be surprised if the banners get swiftly removed today and nothing actually happens for a while in regards to these titles.
That said, they've got to arrive at some point, and we know Microsoft has been doing work in the background to prepare all the Call of Duty games for Xbox Game Pass. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 seems an inevitability with 3+4 on the way very soon, and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has been rumoured for Game Pass recently as well.
It's surely not a question of "if" at this point, when just "when" these Activison games will arrive on Xbox Game Pass.
Do you think this is an indication, or just a simple mistake from Microsoft? Let us know down below.

It is disappointing that funding for this deal has changed the exclusivity of xbox and that ps. Fans get their games but at xbox we cant even get 1st party games on game pass. I hope these come across soon rather than wait till may when we only have a few games lines up for the month
Hopefully they drop soon I've never played world at wars campaign or multiplayer much but I don't have much faith in it I'd expected all these games to of dropped already by this time!
@Gloki_junior It does feel like some monkey paw wish.
I've been hoping these come to Game Pass soon, hopefully a formal announcement will come soon for these.
It's a shame that MS haven't, for whatever reason, taken full advantage of the ABK acquisition.
I've still WAW and a whole bunch of classic CoD titles for my PS3 and, believe it or not, there's still an active online community. The added bonus being it's free to play online.
It's difficult to see what their tactics are here, but I suspect they want players engaging with the latest release of COD and that engagement will inevitably fall if they make lots of other versions suddenly available on GP?
Tony Hawks release will only be being considered to ramp up interest in the series ahead of the release of 3 and 4.
I think it's a shame GP didn't get all these titles some time ago. I don't play cod and I own TH1&2 elsewhere so it's no big deal to me, but it seems like the benefits of the ABK deal as sold to the Xbox faithful were over stated and they don't seem committed to following through on it... Am I being unfair?
@Titntin
It wouldn't be the first time Microsoft bought out a company or two then did little if anything with them.
Looking back it's somewhat amusing how people genuinely thought the ABK acquisition would irrevocably change the face of gaming, Xbox and Game Pass. I guess not.
If we're honest it's been a wasted opportunity thus far, one that hasn't really benefited the platform or gamers in any meaningful way.
If they go through with this and you are a PC player, one thing to note is, cross progression isn't a thing and there isn't the play anywhere program thing between the xbox console/pc app for these games.
I bought black ops 3 awhile back on the Xbox pc app side of things and my Microsoft call of duty account tied to it was at level 1 whereas I am at level 1000 on Xbox so I refunded it.
But if they could get it to work that would be sweet.
I think the tactic, @Titntin, is to scramble to put something (anything!) on Game Pass because we haven't seen the quantity of games that we used to, and so these titles are being added to fill in the gaps. Also, I highly suspect that we will see yet another price hike within the next couple of months, and thus Microsoft think that bolstering the Service with a few more titles will make that more palatable...
@Fiendish-Beaver Yeah, I think you are right. I think they need to be carefull. Though it's undoubtedly the best service of its kind it's already %50 more expensive than it's nearest rival.
When it's firing on all cylinders with games I want to try anyway like it has the last few months, it's clearly worth the extra though, but I think there's a limit to how far they can push the price.
I'll be unsubbing as soon as I've finished South of Midnight untill the next batch of must play titles..as £15 a month is worth saving.
I'm subbed until June 2027, @Titntin! I hardly use the service but will be playing SoM this month, and Expedition 33. They will be the first games I have played on the Service this year, but at least it is something! I would have bought the Collector's Edition of 33, but unfortunately it sold out before I had chance to pre-order one...
@Fiendish-Beaver Yeah I'm excited for expedition 33! I pre ordered it elsewhere though, so I don't need GP to play it 👍
World at War is great and sobering
@FraserG I'm beginning to think that every time you mention Crash 4 and Game Pass in the same sentence, the powers that be push it further out.
@Kaloudz Yeah, you're probably right.
Don't worry, we'll get to play Crash 4 on Game Pass eventually...
... dang it.
I want waw. Give us waw
I woukd love to play through World at War with some friends again for a walk down memory lane, and I never played infinite warfare, and I heard the campaign is good, so this is good news
WAW I’d download in a heartbeat. I still reminisce about those days and it was truly the world war 2 shooter to play. They should have remastered it with a modern multiplayer.
Where's Candy Crush for Gamepass? Cmon MS give the people the game that you paid 70B for.
Definitely excited for Crash 4 to arrive on Gamepass. It's about time lol I had to 😅
@Titntin I think Microsoft are going to heavy on remastering/remaking 360 games. Looking from a multiplatform perspective, you have that the current Sony and Nintendo hardware can't play PS3 and Wii/Wii U games respectively via backwards compatibility.
Taking that into account alongside that there were 360 exclusives back then, you'd have a situation where by remastering/remaking games (e.g. Oblivion, the Gears of War games, MW3 2011) you'd be filling in gaps in the PS5/Switch 2's 7th gen lineup.
@Grumblevolcano
Good point! I never really considered it that way.
There's certainly lots of good 360 titles I'd like to see again 😄

I’d argue it HAS changed Xbox and gaming substantially… just not in the way people expected. After Starfield and other exclusives didn’t lead to Xbox gaining market share Xbox has moved to plan B (or maybe plan E) making first party games available on all platforms. That HAS changed Xbox and the face of gaming massively, and is a real shake up to the status quo.
@themightyant
Microsoft's venture into third party territory could and would have likely happened without the ABK acquisition. Truth is Microsoft, as they have done in the past, have just sat on it.
@NishimuraX Perhaps. But it was certainly the catalyst for speeding it up. They simply can't afford all those studios and 20,000 staff on Xbox & PC alone. Was much more manageable with a fraction of the staff and studios. But no one saw this, instead they were all taking about exclusives.
@themightyant
"But it was certainly the catalyst for speeding it up"
Yes a fair point, agreed.
That'd be neat. Haven't played a CoD game since CoD4 ruined the franchise for me, but I've always been a bit curious about Infinite Warfare and there's a severe lack of Sci-Fi FPS these days.
THPS1+2 would've been nice a year or two ago. I've been holding off on buying it ever since the ABK Acquisition was first announced, but now that 3+4 is getting ready to launch, I couldn't care less about playing the older title. 3 was always my favorite entry in the series anyway.
360 WaW is hacked beyond belief, far beyond even what 360 BO2 is. You can have your prestige level set to a negative amount that bars you from even accessing the matchmaking. That would be a giant PR headache for MS to deal with lots of complaints by people that didn't know what they were getting into.
I really don't see them going that route. IW maybe, since other than some out of bounds glitches it's fairly solid, but no way on WaW.
