After losing its original developer all the way back in 2021, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been struggling to make progress towards actually releasing in the years since - but a big development update has today given us fresh hope, and a new launch window.

Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room are now officially targeting October 2025 for the sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. The original is now more than two decades old, but it sounds like this upcoming sequel is finally on the home stretch and almost ready to release.

"The status of the game right now, is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability and performance, so we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."

Given that the folks behind the game say the bulk of development is now finished, we're feeling pretty confident about that October launch window - although it's probably best to avoid making any bets on that just yet. The last time we updated you lot on the game here at Pure Xbox, the team was convinced about its Fall 2024 window, which has now passed of course.

Anyway, it sounds like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is almost ready to go - and after discovering that we covered this game all the way back in May 2020 before Xbox Series X|S even came out, we'll be happy to see this one hopefully cross the finish line soon.
