After losing its original developer all the way back in 2021, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been struggling to make progress towards actually releasing in the years since - but a big development update has today given us fresh hope, and a new launch window.
Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room are now officially targeting October 2025 for the sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. The original is now more than two decades old, but it sounds like this upcoming sequel is finally on the home stretch and almost ready to release.
"The status of the game right now, is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability and performance, so we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."
Given that the folks behind the game say the bulk of development is now finished, we're feeling pretty confident about that October launch window - although it's probably best to avoid making any bets on that just yet. The last time we updated you lot on the game here at Pure Xbox, the team was convinced about its Fall 2024 window, which has now passed of course.
Anyway, it sounds like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is almost ready to go - and after discovering that we covered this game all the way back in May 2020 before Xbox Series X|S even came out, we'll be happy to see this one hopefully cross the finish line soon.
Do you have faith in Bloodlines 2 delivering later this year? Talk to us about this one down below.

Definitely showing up at Summer Games fest/Microsoft Direct then I hope 🙂
@IronCrow86 Yeah my thoughts exactly. I just hope we see State of Decay 3 and Fable with a 2026 date for the former.
@Kaloudz tbh SoD3 is just taking the piss (I dare say even worse than VMB2)...Yeah re: Fable; surely we'll be getting a date at this point... Hopefully we'll also see more of Perfect Dark and Gears E Day, though think it's too early for release dates for either of them two 🙂
@IronCrow86 It definitely feels like forever and a day since SoD3 was first announced. Which is why I have issues with CGI trailers. I mean, a zombie deer, was it? I'm betting that has nothing to do with the game when it eventually comes round :/
I'd completely forgotten about this. Loved the first Bloodlines and it remains an excellent RPG, but I'm a tad nervous how this will turn out.
Based on how long they have been polishing, October looks all set (as long as GTA 6 doesn't drop there).
My most wanted game this year. Can’t wait! Glad it’s got release date.
I hope it’s not bad. I doubt it’ll live up to its predecessor, and I’m not sure they were trying to make a true sequel. But I hope it’s good.
I feel like it’s gonna be buggy and rushed despite all this time. Paradox wants it done and has been releasing broken stuff lately, cancelling stuff, and disappointing.
Its set in the WoD so that means its got about a 20% chance to be decent. The source material is fantastic but outside of Redemption, Bloodlines 1 nothing has made a huge impact. Hunter was good and I really enjoyed it, but it was always a small and simple twin stick game.
Someone like Owlcat / Harebrained need to get their hands on the rights to make a RP that really leans into the PnP system to its fullest.
