This week, Xbox is hosting yet another 'buy one, get one free' sale on the Microsoft Store - and this particular promotion focuses on a bunch of Xbox DLC packs for multiple titles.
In here, we have a pretty eclectic mix of add-ons, from big expansion passes for major AAA games, to small chunks of DLC for some more niche releases. This is usually the way these sorts of promotions go, but it's always worth a look to see if anything stands out.
Here are some examples of DLC packs you can grab in this BOGOF sale (which runs until April 1st):

While some of these add-ons are pretty pricey and can probably be had for cheaper outside of this promotion — like AC Valhalla's £30+ season pass — there are some more reasonable deals in here. The Dead Island 2 expansion pass is just £12.99 and could be paired up with another DLC for a decent deal - and there are some other add-ons included that don't go on sale all that often.
Anyway, just like last month's strange buy one, get two free promo, this is all a bit of a mixed bag - but we still recommend having a browse on your Xbox console to see if there's anything in here for you. DLC doesn't tend to go on discount quite as often as full games do, and there may well be something in this promotion that you've had your eye on for a while!

There's a few decent ones in the mix but most of them are still quite high in price.
@Kaloudz Yeah, nothing I'm interested in. Hopefully the Spring Sale will have some good deals.
@FarmDog08 Ohhh when is that? I'd forgot about that!
@Kaloudz Should be any time now.
@FarmDog08 I might just have to buy into Crash 4 if it goes on sale, but you mark my words my friend, I bet you if I buy it, it hits GP the following week...
@Kaloudz Hold the line, it's coming!
@FarmDog08 Lmao! I was patient, plenty patient, but that leaker mentioned it was coming (was it?) February, and I've been fidgeting ever since. You're right though, I need to hold, because it absolutely will come as soon as I buy it lol! :/
@Kaloudz Spring sale is likely to be April 16th this year.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is a good game if you're a Holmes fan. It's set when he was a young man, and has a cool open world island. A good "A to AA" mystery game.
@JoyfulFire Thanks a heap my friend!
@Kaloudz the week after I bought RE2 and RE3, They came to Gamepass lol. So after that I refused to buy Spyro and waited months and months for to come to gamepass and it finally did. I'd recommend waiting for Crash to come. I'm sure it will.
Still refusing to buy MWII. Im sure one day itll come to Gamepass
@Kaloudz man just buy crash 4. its worth it. One of the best platformers and very challending if you want to go to completionist (actually prob one of the most challenging lol). Its also 4k60 and looks really good.
@Millionski I cant mate. Like, I mentally cant lol. I'm holding out now on purpose through stubbornness. I just know (based on recent leaks) that it's coming any time soon. If it's not here by the summer showcase, I'll be grabbing it. But I suspect it will be here by then. I just don't see the point in splashing out £30+ when I can get it at no cost post-sub fee. #Cheapskate
@tacosharko LOL! Glad I'm not the only one with bad buying luck. How did you get on with RE2 and 3? Did you enjoy them? I absolutely love RE games. I'm so hoping the next remake is either Zero, or CV (I'm not really into the first game - I've played too many iterations of it).
The Powerwash Sim DLCs would be great for one of these deals. Buy one Crossover you know you'll be more interested in and get one for free you're not sure of.
@Kaloudz I loved RE2 and RE3 surprisingly more than I liked RE4. My girlfriend loved RE4 more than the previous. I was originally going to attempt to 100% them but it became a bit of a grind so i gave up. Might pick it back up again in the future. I'd highly recommend them if you like the series.
Whats your thoughts of the multiplayer entries like RE5 and 6? Despite the hate they get, They have a special place for me because they were some of the first co-op games my girlfriend and I played together
@tacosharko I'm like you. I loved 2 and 3 more than 4 but I think that's because I've played 4 so many times (Game Cube, Xbox One, Xbox Series S versions etc...) RE2 is my all time fave. It's just perfect all round.
I enjoyed 5 for the co-op but 6 just irritated the hell out of me. There were far too many scripted moments that just slowed it down for me. Such as "one person hold this while the other holds that" and "ohhh, a narrow walkway that takes me half a day to squeeze through" etc...
In regards to the length of RE6 though, it's really hard to moan about. That game was super long and well worth the money. Also, that Chris Vs Leon scene... bloody outstanding.
Did you ever play 7 and 8? Do you and your GF play other co-op games?
@Kaloudz Yeah it has a different vibe to RE2 and 3 I feel. It was good, but I liked Raccoon City much more.
I do understand what you mean by all the scripted moments in 6. I played through it about 3 times (Xbox 360, PC and Xbox one) and by the third, I was completely sick of it haha. I would still love a remake of a co-op game but I dont know how it would turn out. Doubt it would happen anyway.
I tried 7. I did enjoy it but never got far through it. Didnt like it as much as the third person games so never tried 8 because of that.
My girlfriend finished RE7 though and enjoyed it. Yeah her and I play pretty much any co-op game together from FPS like Halo, L4D, Far Cry to small games like It Takes Two, Castle Crashers etc. We loved playing through Grounded too with my brother
Cheaper to get them when there all actually on sale, but if you just have to have them now it's better then paying full price i guess.
@Kaloudz This has happened to me once I bought a game on sale and within a week it hits gamepass....lol...I've also had games that i almost bought but didn't and they ended up on gamepass soon after, that's always a pleasant suprise.
@CaptnTedo It's awful isn't it lol. I think part the reason that they announce day one games (from third party devs) so far in advance is to not annoy people that pre-order. That said, there's nothing worse than buying and then seeing it on the service O_o
@tacosharko Raccoon City as in the setting, or Raccoon City as in Operation Raccoon City? That game gets a lot of hate but I quite liked it for an action game.
Ah man, I played it a few times too (solo and then co-op) I just wish they did a skip-feature or upped the pace for the scripted bits because although it's not the best horror game, it's certainly one pretty decent action game, and really good for its co-op.
I think sadly if they remake it (or 5) they will remove the co-op to keep in-line with the horror they've generated since remaking 2-4. Saying that, I do think they lost their way a little bit with RE8 - going all out action towards the end of the game. That said, it is hard to make a horror game without some action elements. It'd just get boring if it was scares only.
Grounded was amazing. I absolutely loved it. I'm not sure on your age but it reminded me of Honey I Shrunk The Kids. I hope they do a follow up but knowing the dev as I do, they're usually keen to move on to new ideas. Did you ever play Sea of Thieves? That's not a bad co-op game - if time consuming.
@Kaloudz I agree that they will most likely remove the co-op if they ever did remake them. I also agree that if they made RE8 completely jumpscare moments, it would get very boring. I've played a few horror games that were basically a walking jumpscare simulator and there was nothing really keeping me engaged.
We really loved Grounded. Im early 90's so i also fell in love with it due to the Honey I Shrunk The Kids movies. We ended up getting 100% achievements and it was well and truly worth the grind. I wish they would keep adding updates and content. I did play Sea Of Thieves from roughly 2019-2021. I hop on now and again but havent gotten back into it but i loved the Monkey Island update (those Monkey Island games were some of my childhood favourites)
