It's been a month now since open world survival shooter Deadside arrived on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S for the first time, and its popularity shows no signs of slowing down - the game is currently #7 on the "top paid" Xbox charts in the UK, and #15 in the US - it's remained remarkably consistent against the biggest AAA behemoths out there.

Don't be surprised if it starts climbing into the top five soon as well, as Deadside has just received its first Xbox discount for the weekend - dropping it down from £20.99 to £16.79 in the UK, and $24.99 to $19.99 in the US. This is in conjunction with a free weekend that's currently taking place for the game on Steam:

Although we're not getting the free weekend ourselves, don't forget that Deadside does have a free two-week trial on the Xbox Store - so you can try it completely free before committing to any kind of purchase.

It's being reported this week that Deadside has added over 400,000 players since its console launch on Xbox and PlayStation, with the game's publisher admitting earlier in March that it's been blindsided by the surge in popularity. It's always nice to see PC-to-console launches resulting in success, and long may it continue for the team!
