Warner Bros. Working On New LEGO Game As Industry Reporter Discusses Studio Closures

Earlier this week, the industry was alerted to three more studio closures - with the Warner Bros. gaming division cutting down on developers to save costs. Unfortunately, in the year 2025 this is hardly surprising news - and in the wake of the WB announcement, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier has been talking about what's going on at the Hogwarts Legacy publisher.

Speaking on the Kinda Funny Gamescast this week, Schreier — who initially reported on WB Games earlier this month — spoke candidly about the company's gaming plans. Alongside discussions about past & future projects and these recent studio closures, Schreier mentioned a new LEGO game in the works at longtime developer TT Games.

"They [TT Games] actually are one of the few studios under the [WB] umbrella that has a game coming in the near future, they do have a LEGO game coming - I believe it's for next year...

I could be misremembering, it's either later this year or next year. But yeah, there is a new LEGO game coming — I won't blow up their spot and say what it is — but yes, there's a new LEGO game coming... imminently."

As Schreier says in the quote up above, he's not willing to divulge information on what exactly this LEGO title will be based on, but the reporter does sound confident that it's launching pretty soon. Hopefully, we hear some more positive news coming out of WB Games with this announcement in the near future.

Meanwhile, over on Reddit, user Spider-Fan77 has broken down all of the big talking points from this Kinda Funny chat rather nicely - and we definitely recommend checking that out for an overview of this discussion. Outside of the LEGO reporting, a lot of this talk goes over similar points to that big Bloomberg report earlier this month, with the added context of these new studio closures. We'll throw a link to our coverage on that report down below.

What do you want this new WB LEGO title to be? Go ahead and discuss all of this down in the comments.
