Shortly after the Xbox Games Showcase last summer, Microsoft announced that third-person shooter Mecha BREAK was coming to Xbox consoles in 2025 - and now the development team has narrowed down a release window, with the help of Team Xbox.
Chinese developer Amazing Seasun Games has announced that Mecha BREAK is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC in Spring 2025. Moreover, the team also took to social media over the weekend to mention that Microsoft is "providing crucial support for key features", as the two companies bring the game to life as an Xbox console launch exclusive.
"Mecha BREAK is Amazing Seasun Games first foray into console development, and we are committed to providing the quality experience that gamers deserve on day one. The Xbox team is providing crucial support for key features such as crossplay and cross-save functionality."
The team does mention that more platforms are being planned for later down the line, but it's looking like that support from Microsoft is helping the game ship day and date on Xbox and PC. Here's some more information on the title if you're interested - alongside the game's latest trailer:
"Squad up in Mecha BREAK, a multiplayer third-person shooter offering players three unique game modes filled with high-octane ground and aerial combat. Choose from diverse classes, customize your appearance, and battle hostile mechs across treacherous terrain."

Game looks interesting, just a shame its such a blatent Gundam rip off. Having built Gun-Pla and looking at the mechs you can see elements of them are basically identical. No issue with drawing inspiration but they should have probably blended it with other sources like Evangelion / Kuromukuro / Front Mission for a more unique look.
Now lets just see if this gets the same sort of feedback here that Black Myth Wukong got. Something tells me there will be far less conspiracy theories this time around.
I miss lost planet from capcom
@Ilyn yea a gundam exclusive would’ve been better
Removed - unconstructive; user is banned
@DeanyBabyy except this is? It’s only releasing on Xbox so console exclusive
Not my cuppa tea but nice to read up on.
@DeanyBabyy it's exclusive because mechabreak is exclusive like avowed, south midnight, gears, replaced, contraband and many other games. Don't be fooled by media extrapolations and speculations just for clicbait. Xbox make exclusive AND multiplatform games, when Xbox port one game on another platform, 3 news games are exclusives.
@DeanyBabyy just a reminder that “no red lines” and “more games are coming” does not mean all games are available day 1 on all platforms, does not mean NO timed exclusives and apparently some games can be exclusive forever.
Confirmed xbox exclusives for this year:
Avowed, south of midnight, mecha break, subnautica 2 (early access).
We dont hear much about fable but last time we heard it still aiming for 2025 as an exclusive too.
Changes are indeed coming but as of today if you are interested in these games you need an xbox/pc.
I’m playing this straight up it’s giving me daemon x machina armored core vibes. I get the gundam inspiration but I like gundam to.
@Seioni Same here.
I don't remember hearing about this one-
"...a multiplayer third person shooter...".
Ah. That explains a lot.
What this means, rather than exclusivity, is that the XBOX version releases 'early'. Way back when it was first announced, it was announced for PS5, XBOX and Steam.
Sony 'assisted in development' for games like Street Fighter 5, but the difference is that Microsoft isn't holding a gun to the developer's heads and telling them to cancel the PS5 version.
Microsoft needs big titles with a few weeks of early adoption, as well as brand recognition across the landscape, or they'll lose money, plain and simple.
So, yes, they're trying to buy limited 'exclusivity', but those who slam Microsoft for it... Yet played Final Fantasy 7 Remake?
Fair enough. I have seen the name, don't think much of it. Tried DAEMON X MACHINA it was ok....... But I'd still play a Senran Kagura or a Malicious Rebirth instead.
This screenshot doesn't show much but a hub I assume? The trailer is ok but really doesn't show much either of it's environments.
I prefer the Zone of Enders 2 or Battle Engine Aquila (the type that got me into mech games but had a good mix of and only nowadays branching out like have to other genres never played of tactics while others like hack n slashes did from Legend of Spyro and gone to many others over time) types at the moment.
Front Mission Evolved I didn't mind either. Nor did I Starfox approach of vehicle types spawning and the tunnels versus wide areas if need be.
So to me I haven't dived enough into mech games yet.
DAEMON X MACHINA to me was like while I like say tactics games with limited space in a mech game I find it a bit limiting. So the reverse for me of tactics games having paths, stop for combat, quests, etc. I prefer just menus/combat areas in those games, but Mario Rabbids to me blended the paths and things to see ever so slightly I was like ok I'm open to this.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner exactly thank you 💯
@Ilyn Why would there be any ''conspiracy theories" for this game ? They have clearly explained that it's going to be an Xbox console launch exclusive with other formats to follow later down the line, it couldn't be any clearer.
This looks like the Gundam game I’ve always wanted but never got (from the ones I’ve tried). My concern is there was no mention of a solo game made, if it’s multiplayer only I have no interest in this.
No multiplayer game can survive without being on all platforms…. So this is very similar to the Palworld story… help a smaller company develop a game and get a timed exclusive
@PsBoxSwitchOwner "The team does mention that more platforms are being planned for later down the line"
@TheGameThrifter eventually yes, just like stalker 2 has plans, but until that point it is an Xbox console exclusive no?
@ValentineMeikin so youre ok with microsoft having time exclusives, but garuntee you complained about sony doing it. Also what you mean held a gun to their head , oh kinda like when they canceled the ps5 release of some games after buying those other developers
@Soimme I'm not talking about timed exclusivity.
Street Fighter 5 has come and gone entirely, and there was never a XBOX version at all. And they're a third-party developer, not owned by Sony.
Same with how we MIGHT see Final Fantasy 7 Remake on XBOX later in the year, but there's been no commitment ever by Square Enix, and the developers of Black Myth Wukong finding every excuse possible to delay or cancel the XBOX version.
Over that second one, a few months back, Capcom implied that there was an issue bringing the new Capcom Fighting Collection titles to XBOX. Within a couple of weeks, Capcom stated that the problem was being fixed, and a short time ago, MvC Fighting Collection dropped on XBOX.
And that's nowhere near the first. Every time a company has put forward problems with developing for XBOX, Microsoft has stepped in and tried to find a workable solution... except in this one case.
I've been able to, numerous times, cite third party developers who think 'multi-platform' is PC, PS4/5 and Switch, and practically none where it's PC/XBOX or maybe PC/XBOX/Switch. Microsoft, right now, are pushing hard into making their first and second-party titles release on PC, PS4 and PS5, and the new Switch 2 will likely add that to the push.
But Sony aren't doing the same gesture, and people have gone out of their way to prove Sony's claims that, for multiple titles, 'only (we) can run this game' as inherently false.
The whole ABK lawsuit situation was openly Sony vs Microsoft, with Sony demanding Microsoft not be allowed to acquire Call Of Duty, with a lot of Sony's tactics brought up in court.
Timed exclusivity is not a problem... except when the timeframe for the console version looks like a sideways 8, and the general consumer is never told about that extra small print.
