Capcom's Spotlight showcase has officially wrapped and as many fighting fans expected, there's been an update on Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.
The big news is it's now available to download digitally on Xbox One (obviously, you can also grab it via your Xbox Series X and Series S). This follows a slight delay between this version and the PlayStation, Switch and PC releases last September.
Once again, there are seven classics included in this collection:
・X-MEN CHILDREN OF THE ATOM
・MARVEL SUPER HEROES
・X-MEN VS. STREET FIGHTER
・MARVEL SUPER HEROES vs. STREET FIGHTER
・MARVEL vs. CAPCOM CLASH OF SUPER HEROES
・MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2 New Age of Heroes
・THE PUNISHER
Depending on your location, there's also a launch discount on this release dropping the game from the regular price of $49.99 USD to $39.99 USD (or your regional equivalent) - so get it while you can, if you're interested.
Here's the official description of this title from Xbox's website:
The legendary crossover hits are back! Jump into this collection of arcade classics from the fan-favorite Marvel and Capcom crossover games!
Dive into an action-packed lineup consisting of seven unique titles, including heavy hitters like X-MEN VS. STREET FIGHTER, and MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2 New Age of Heroes. The collection also includes the rare beat 'em up game, THE PUNISHER.
Each game in the collection can be played online or co-op! Whether you're new to the series or you played back in the arcades, players of all levels can enjoy these timeless classics together!
In some related news, it's also been announced the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will be arriving for Xbox One on May 16th, 2025.

Too bad this (to my knowledge) isn’t getting a physical release for XBox.
I’ll live with my Switch and PS4 physical copies, but I’m glad more folks will get to play these!
Cool! I love these Capcom collections. I'm very interested in Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
Already have it on other consoles, but I went and got it on Xbox. I know some friends on here who will want to play this.
Regarding Capcom Fighting Collection 2:
It's a bummer Xbox doesn't get a physical version, but having it available on Xbox day one is a very fair trade!
Hopefully a physical version like the switch and ps4 have?? That would be awesome!
While I am VERY happy to see both this collection on Xbox and Microsoft (at least for Capcom) rescinding it's 'Must have a Series Versoon of all games' policy...I would very much like to know if this will be retroactive and remove the stupid XB1 exclusion zone on classic titles and compilations like Castlevania Dominus, FF Pixel, Metal Gear Solid and others I am probably forgetting. The whole, must be a Series Version was a terrible idea while your primary competitor ran laps around you with no exclusions to PS4 on classic titles. Such a brain dead decision. Yes I realize this sounds like sour grapes but I hate seeing good gaming being segregated within it's own customer base.
@dskatter physical is king. I love when design has to be created for the real world be touched & felt. Maybe even resold for a handsome sum? *Doctor evil pinky smirk
Its a bummer no physical but that's what I got my Switch version for (Which had to be imported because of that code in a box BS they gave Europe, which is probably an indicator that XBox won't see a physical).
XBox is my main so I purchased that bad boy since I know I'll get a lot of hours on it (You have to beat every game with EVERY character or the last achievement. Not to mention Online matches.).
They can prove me wrong and I'll happily triple dip but for now, just happy to have it on XBox.
I am ready to be taken for a ride.
The gaming industry really needs a universal cross-buy system.
@Kilamanjaro The physical Swirch and PS4 copies are getting some serious discounts lately, and both my copies are opened JUST so I don’t get tempted to resell them down the road.
Bought this game digitally on day one on PS. Mastered it. Just bought it again for Xbox. Gonna master it again. Can’t wait.
@dskatter yeah I have been saying I am going to sell my games but no, I never do 😂 I am a collector
Never been a huge fan of this genre but happy for those that are!
@Isolte I first played them wayyyy back in 16bit. Mortal Kombat. They just never clicked with me and I recall an annoying head (a developer?) popping up to wind me up that was saying something like "whoooopsieee". That was as far as I could stomach lol.
@Isolte I'll never forget it 😂
