Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Is Reportedly On Its Way To Xbox Game Pass

Today, we're seeing fresh reports of another Call of Duty title heading to Xbox Game Pass, although we're not sure of the exact nature of this drop right now. First mentioned by XboxEra and then corroborated by Insider Gaming, the original Modern Warfare 2 is apparently coming to the service in March or April of this year, although there's a few different versions of the game that this could be.

While the reports clarify that this is not 2022's Modern Warfare 2, it could be either the 2009 original or the game's campaign remaster from 2020. Both outlets mention this campaign remaster in their reporting, but neither can confirm whether it's that release or the Xbox 360 version at this time.

The original source actually mentions prominent leaker eXtas1s in its reporting as well. Back in December, the well-known Xbox insider mentioned that a Call of Duty game was coming to the Game Pass service in the coming months.

Here at Pure Xbox, we don't have any extra information to add to this reporting other than sheer logic, but to us, it would make sense for this to be the 2020 campaign remaster. The Xbox 360 original is still rife with hackers these days, and it'd be odd for Microsoft to start its mission of bringing classic COD over to Game Pass with solely the original Modern Warfare sequel. There's also the fact that ActiBlizz seemingly wants to keep its online playerbase playing recent Call of Duty titles, which adds further reasoning for this to be the campaign remaster.

While none of this information is confirmed for now, we're seeing enough sources reporting on this to expect that it's likely to happen in some form in the coming months. We'll just have to wait for an official Game Pass announcement closer to the time to confirm which version of Modern Warfare 2 this is!
