The big surprise of the Xbox Indie Showcase a couple of days ago was the shadow drop of Balatro on Xbox Game Pass, but at the time, it turned out that the game was only made available for console and cloud users.
That's all changed very quietly today, as a native version of Balatro has begun showing up on the PC Game Pass app. Better yet, it's showing in the 'My Library' section on PC if you've already bought Balatro on an Xbox console.
Here's a look at the evidence of Balatro's PC Game Pass inclusion:

In terms of Xbox Play Anywhere, Balatro does not have the Play Anywhere tag on its Xbox Store page right now, and you can't filter it that way either, but we've checked that our console copy is appearing as an "owned" title on the PC app.
If you already own the game and can verify this as well, we'd certainly appreciate the extra validity in the comments down below - Balatro plays really well on PC, so we think this will become a very popular Play Anywhere title!

Is anyone playing this game?
I love poker and I heard it similar to that I will have to try it!!
@Ricky-Spanish I played it for about 1.5 hours. I found it extremely boring, but I'm definitely in the minority. People seem to love it.
I love the game, I'm playing on the Switch and it has that 'one-more-go' grip on me. There are so many combinations in the game, that's what keeps you playing. Some games can be over so quickly, but once you get familiar with the Joker cards and find the balance of winning credit for opening card packs for your deck, you can create some great builds.
I don't get the hype for this game. I love poker but cannot get into this.
In hours and hours of play on Switch I only won one round. Now it's on gamepass I don't feel any desire to bang my head against the wall again.
@Ricky-Spanish It has over 5 million copies. Yes, people are playing it. 150 hours myself.
@Realist What's the hook of the game I'm going to give it a go tonight!
I'm sorry but going into this blind I just know it's a poker type game and you need to keep upgrading your hands or something??🤷
@Ricky-Spanish It's basically Poker meets Rogue lite (or like, I don't know the proper terminology.) The game is built around trying to build high point scoring combos, using Jokers that give you extra scoring and upgrading your deck. And if this explanation doesn't make sense, don't worry, the tutorial in game is only like 5 minutes.
@Bigmanfan Thanks 👍
I'll give it a go tonight see how I get on.
@Ricky-Spanish It was my most played game last year, own it on three platforms. As of right now, it’s BY FAR my most played game this year. Only game I’ve got 100 hours in this year… Shoot, it’s the only game I’ve got over 20 hours in so far this year. It’s on Gamepass now, so why not try it, you know?
@somnambulance I'm going to give it a go see if I like it the joys of gamepass!
Downloaded this to play after Rare Replay. Looking forward to trying it out.
Bought the game on release ..defo good and can be addictive....haven't played it since I finally managed to complete a run lol
I've almost pulled the trigger on this many times over on the Switch but I knew it would show up on Gamepass so I've been patiently waiting. I got to sample it on Dave the Diver.
Last night, I played it for about 3 hours. I loved every minute of my game session. I can't wait to play it again. It's simple, yet very strategic. If you're looking for deep story and killer graphics, this isn't it. If you're looking for pick-up and play fun, it's awesome.
@dkxcalibur Yeah, deep story and killer graphics are so last year 🤣
Quietly? It was announced for PC Game Pass...
@Realist @Bigmanfan @somnambulance I gave the game a go it's very very good I'm enjoying it got to the sixth ante first go I'll definitely keep playing great game pass addition!!
@Ricky-Spanish Just wait til you’re aiming for ante 12 and beyond!
@FarmDog08 I appreciate you not completely dogging (pun intended) all over it just because you didn't like it. Acknowledging that a lot of people do so it might offer something to others. I always try to acknowledge what's good about games I don't like (as in, games that are well reviewed by most people)
@onetheneo Thanks. I know I have my own quirks with gaming and have not liked a lot of well-liked games, but that's the beauty of gaming: there is something out there for everyone.
