Let's get the freebies started for this week, shall we?

It's been revealed that the Xbox Insider Hub is getting three playtests this week, with the first being for the monster success that is Baldur's Gate 3, and the other two being for a couple of upcoming 2025 Xbox releases.

In the case of Baldur's Gate 3, this is a stress test for Patch 8, which means you'll need to own the game already in order to take advantage. Assuming that's the case, you can check out loads of cool features ahead of time including crossplay with other platforms, Photo Mode, new subclasses and a whole bunch of other things.

In fact, this will even mark the debut of split-screen for Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox Series S!

Here's how to download the Baldur's Gate 3 stress test via the Xbox Insider Hub (when it shows up later today):

  1. Open (or install) the Xbox Insider Hub on Xbox Series X|S
  2. Go to "Previews" and then "Baldur's Gate 3"
  3. Hit the "Join" button
  4. Install the Patch 8 Stress Test when you're redirected to the Microsoft Store

Keep in mind that the stress test is accessible via a totally different version of Baldur's Gate 3, which means you'll need to re-download it via the specific Microsoft Store page. Here are some more details about this:

To return to the Patch 7 version of Baldur’s Gate 3, you will need to exit the Stress Test version via the Xbox Insider Hub. This will prompt an update and will revert your game to the previous version. Please bear in mind that any saves made within the stress test will not be compatible with the Patch 7 version once you revert back.

The next one is the much-talked-about Xbox Game Pass release, 33 Immortals. For this, you'll want to follow the same instructions as the Baldur's Gate 3 stress test above, after which you'll be directed to the Microsoft Store to download the free playtest.

Then, you'll have until February 7th to enjoy the game on Xbox Series X, Series S and PC. The only caveat to be aware of is that limited space is available, so it's best to hit the "Join" button as soon as possible so you don't miss out.

33 Immortals is a co-op action-roguelike for 33 players. Play a damned soul, and rebel against God’s final judgment. Pick-up and raid, cooperate to survive hordes of monsters, defeat massive bosses, and face the wrath of God in a fight for your eternal life.

And finally, we've got another one that's just snuck in at the end here! From January 28th to February 3rd, the Xbox Insider Hub is hosting a beta for War Robots: Frontiers, which is a free-to-play online mech shooter arriving in 2025.

In the beta, there are three modes that you can check out in the form of Team Deathmatch, Last Robot Standing and Warp Rush, and crossplay is supported with other platforms which should ensure a healthy playerbase.
