SEGA has this week launched a new online profile system called SEGA Account. It gives fans access to a "host of benefits" when playing SEGA and Atlus titles and using their titles' online services.
This will include a bunch of exclusive bonuses for select games, starting with the upcoming release of Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which launches February 21st, 2025. If you create one of these accounts, you'll receive the Kazuma Kiryu Special Outfit DLC in-game.
"SEGA Account is a profile that lets you maximize SEGA's online services and offers a ton of benefits. Anyone can sign up, and it's free to use!"

This first offer can be claimed from now until March 7, with codes being distributed between February 17 and that end date of March 7. Again, all you need to do is create a SEGA Account, link to a platform compatible with this game (like Xbox) and you'll receive the DLC item.
Apart from being able to take part in promotions with "incredible rewards", there's also a feature "coming soon" which will let you look at your past records for SEGA games you've played.
In other news relating to SEGA, company president Shuji Utsumi recently mentioned how Sega had been considering something along the lines of a subscription service, but was unable to share more information at the time. Could this eventually link to the new SEGA Account system? We'll have to wait and see!

Weird. I made an account and linked everything. I’m not sure why, other than I like Atlus and sega rpgs.
Sort of hope they don’t do a subscription service tho. I’d prefer just seeing their games on game pass.
I love Sega so I'll be signing up. I wonder how far back the stats go? In terms of game releases.
So sega games will hit us with the annoying account page everytime we start their games. That's unfortunate. Probably passing on the sign up and will suffer through the bombardment of "chances" to sign up.
This is the worry for the big 2 of MS/Sony - every other publisher is making their own sub service.
Means going forward we will see less of their games coming early.
And gamers getting screwed with more subscriptions.
I like Sega games, but unless I can link my Dreamcast, how about no? Will be a great day when this subscription non-sense comes to an end
@old-dad It would be a rather big shock if they supported the Dreamcast in this in fairness and reality 🤷
