Xbox's Long-Running Strategy Series Could Be The Next To Jump To PS5

Microsoft has gradually started bringing some of its Xbox games to PS5 this year, and it looks like the team's remastered Age Of Empires 2: Definitive Edition could be another title to move over in the near future.

As spotted over on Reddit, two Age of Empires 2 player profiles appear to have PlayStation tags next to their names. We're not sure of the context here — whether it's a bug or genuine testing for a PS5 release — but it's an interesting development either way.

It's especially interesting because, well, it was reported earlier this year that Microsoft had been considering this particular title for an upcoming PlayStation release. It's not been confirmed just yet, of course, but this development certainly adds credibility to those earlier reports.

Last month, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella reiterated the team's plans to "extend content to new platforms", despite prior rumours that PS5 releases could be slowing down. On this evidence, it looks like select Xbox and PC releases are still being planned for PS5 - and Age of Empires 2 could well be next.
