Gaming accessory maker 8BitDo has today unveiled two gorgeous new bits of kit - an Xbox-themed gaming mouse and an Xbox-themed keyboard. Both of these accessories launch next month, and they're already listed on Amazon US by the manufacturer.
We're still gathering all the official details on both of these accessories — we tried to get in touch earlier this week for more details and didn't hear back — but the official Amazon listings state that the accessories are made for Windows PC and Android devices.
At the moment, just the keyboard is up for pre-order on Amazon - but we'll throw the direct 8BitDo product link for the mouse down below as well:

Now, although the keyboard listing above states that the item is "not for Xbox consoles", here at the PX offices we have this very same keyboard with an NES theme, and that one works just fine. We're not 100% sure if these Xbox editions will work, so it's best to wait for more official details if you're getting these solely for console use - but they should work, at least in wired form.
Anyway, with that little caveat out of the way, here are some more details on both of these new Xbox-themed accessories:

In my nearly 40 years on Earth, I don't think I've ever wanted anything more than I want that keyboard.
That’s nice.
But we need a matching wrap. For me it doesn’t fit with the consoles
That is both hideous and incredible... so much so that I think I like it
This is awesome would love it plugged into my steam deck docked
I worked with a bloke once who felt sick by to much of the color blue no lie!
These 8bitdo keyboards always look cool, but I'm not sure I could do without a numpad.
Not for Xbox consoles - what a big missing feature
@Vordus I'm the opposite; I don't think I've ever used the right-hand number pad on a keyboard. I instinctively have always gone to the numbers under F1-F12.
@kihaennem USB keyboards are all pretty much the same connections wise, so my suspicion is that it'll work fine with Xbox consoles, but that some of the functions (like the super buttons, the Game Bar button, the volume turner and anything that requires software to program it) won't. Of course, it's suddenly become a lot harder to find out whether the basic functions work because it's impossible to search for whether folks have tried the existing versions of the 8bitdo retro keyboard on Xbox without just bringing up articles about the Xbox-themed one.
I need a numpad to input data!!!!!!!
This is why people get confused with the way Xbox names things.
I hope it sounds extra clicky-clacky. My supervisor recently got a new "retro" keyboard and it sounds amazing. I never knew how nostalgic I could be for a time I didn't live through. lol.
@Kienda @kihaennem it should work just fine wired on an xbox like any usb keyboard.
and more importantly it uses the same wireless dongle as the arcade stick that works fine on xbox. I fail to see why this won't work as well, they might want to announce this as an new feature down the line.
@Utena-mobile They come with Kailh Jellyfish X switches which I've not used, but they are clicky type switches.
@Vordus
I have the C64 Version and they sell the Num Pad separately.
It is magnetic and "docks" to the Main Keyboard.
A nice Feature is also that you can use it as an actual Calculator by pressing a Button.
The Keys of the C64 Version are concave and i really like it.
I am using it at Work and i am actually tipping faster... Thaught i just got slower by age but it seems i just needed the right Tool^^
@Vordus
The Functions of Super Buttons and Hotkeys are saved on the Keyboard itself.
So at least those should work.
@Utena-mobile
It is super clicky
@Azuris @PhileasFragg Well, well, well. I think it's time to do a little bit of Christmas shopping. lol.
Thank you!
I'd buy that instantly IF it was full length. I know people have said there is another num pad you could get but that just feels like cashing in on us numpadders. 😂 Still I shall keep an eye on it. Now if only we could get some PS2 version...
