Update []: Today's the day, folks! The free update for Sea of Stars is officially now available across all platforms including Xbox, and you can check it out as part of Xbox Game Pass as well.
We'll throw the new trailer up above, along with our original 10/10 review down below - we absolutely love this game!
Original Story: Sea of Stars was a bit of an Xbox Game Pass banger last year, and now, the game's 'Dawn of Equinox' update is set to almost reinvent the classics-inspired RPG.

Arriving this November, the upcoming patch adds three-player local co-op, an overhaul to the game's combat systems, a revamped prologue for new players, a bonus cinematic cutscene and more. Seriously, this update is packed full of goodies, with the team having worked on this one for some time.
You can get a closer look at the team's changes tomorrow, October 1st at 2pm ET, when a Sea of Stars Dawn of Equinox livestream takes place:
What's more, players are also being treated to a free DLC for the game as well - set to arrive in March 2025. 'Throes of the Watchmaker' will introduce "a completely new storyline, a new playable character and more" to the title next spring. Wins all around for Sea of Stars, then!
The Dawn of Equinox update, featuring three-player local co-op, comes to Xbox and Game Pass on November 12th.

For anyone who hasn't played this game yet, it's a magical romp through what feels like a mid 90's SNES JRPG with memorable characters and a fun setting. I loved this game so much I played through it twice and don't regret a moment I spent with it.
Three-player local co-op?!??!? Nice.
Sea of Stars was so good. I am excited for this DLC.
Is this game challenging? Or can i play it with my wife (who is not a gamer at all) and my 6 year old ??
@HeavyHoggJP there’s an option to play it for the story which is very forgiving. You don’t have to manage health that much etc. that should be ok with wife and kid!
@IssaBrvndo Hell ye! Thanks bubba !
@HeavyHoggJP no prob!!
Sea of Stars is good game, though I didn't really get into it like some others appear to have. I did just about everything (though I did miss a recipe or two). The game was way longer than I expected. I did like the "Wheels" game.
Still haven’t played this but just got my physical copy…might just wait til November and try to play with my kids
Wonder how much longer it’ll be on GamePass. I really like the game but haven’t made the time to play it with so many other games out. Worried I’ll start playing it again and it’ll leave GP.
It’s a great game so probably will end up buying it anyway.
