You see, for a good while now we've known that Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is Donald Trump's main opposition in the 2024 US Presidential Election, but a new comment on CNN actually suggests that Xbox is the Republican leader's main opponent... right.

Speaking as part of a recent segment on CNN, Republican strategist Brad Todd talked about what Trump is up against in terms of winning the election this year. Todd said that the Republican candidate's "enemy" or his "opponent" is "the Xbox". This all makes a little more sense when you read the full quote, so here it is:

"I like to say that Trump's enemy tomorrow, or his opponent tomorrow, is not really Kamala Harris - it's the Xbox. He needs a lot of younger men who don't care much about politics — and like video games a little bit more — to go and vote."

Ahh, don't you just love some mainstream media stereotyping on a Tuesday evening? Anyway, studies in recent years have suggested that the ratio of men and women that play video games is not far off 50/50, so while we see what Todd is trying to get at here, his comments are perhaps somewhat outdated for a 2024 gaming audience. Who'd have thought?

In other random presidential video game news, Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz have been enjoying some Fortnite as of late - even introducing an official map as part of their 2024 election campaign. It really is a wild world we live in these days, huh.
