Well, another Xbox Partner Preview is in the books! This week marked the third version of the showcase so far, and based on the reaction we've seen over the past 24 hours (well, slightly less), most Xbox fans seem to have enjoyed it.
A quick browse on social media reveals that a lot of people really liked the surprise Xbox Game Pass announcements, and some of the new titles that proved particularly popular included FBC: Firebreak, Cronos: The New Dawn, Subnautica 2, Animal Well and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. There were definitely some good-looking games in here!
Of course, we do our own polls here at Pure Xbox to judge the overall reaction, with a 'B' rating coming out on top after securing 38% of the vote. Surprisingly, that's actually worse than the Partner Preview we saw back in March, as that one got a majority 'A' rating with 30% of the vote. Ultimately though, each of these events have gone down well so far.
If you haven't cast your vote yet, you can still do so below. We probably won't be seeing another Xbox Partner Preview showcase until around March of 2025, but don't forget the next big event is The Game Awards in December!

Xbox aren’t doing much to wrong game wise
they need Stalker 2 and Indy and Avowed to hit home runs and the game line up is looking better.
They just need to advertise and be more competitive price wise with consoles.
Like they actual want to sell consoles and game pass, instead of thinking the general public know this stuff.
Perhaps it’s a USA company thing but the other Japanese companies seem to know how to get the message out there in Europe and the UK.
I graded it as a 'C' - Quite 'Meh' from my own personal perspective as I didn't really see any Game that I would be excited for, would be wanting to know its release date and/or be wanting to play it as soon as I could and nothing here 'jumped' out that way for me.
Its not the fact that the majority, if not all, will be on PS5 too so for 'Xbox', there isn't a reason to buy or play on Xbox consoles I couldn't play on my Playstation, its more the fact that I wouldn't likely play these, even if I can play with Game Pass Day 1.
I'm looking forward to Indiana Jones, Stalker 2 and BO6 and expect games like Doom and Avowed to fill my gaming time in the next year - along with my Backlog of games I haven't yet finished - most of which appeal more to me than the games shown.
Nice, so the next big MS f*ck up gets announced in 3-4 weeks.
(Every time Xbox has a good event they follow it with a baffling announcement weeks later lol)
You mean they are praising the developers?
Doesn’t really have much to do with Xbox. (Same with Sony 3rd party stuff)
I think it was a solid presentation. Unfortunately, we seem to be stuck in that part of the console generation where developers are playing it safe with a lot of souls or Zelda style games.
Some Decent stuff couple on gp too so that's good😎 that bloober game is one I liked most though deffo grabbing that 🙂 Xbox keep smashing these shows lately
I thought there was a lot of good stuff there. I was so glad to get the Lake House release date - I can't wait!
Plus, my Steam Wishlist increased in size yesterday. I will even give FBC a whirl when it releases on Game Pass (I assume PC will be included in that).
Cronos: The New Dawn, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Mouse P.I., and Eternal Strands were all standout titles for me to keep an eye out for.
Klobrille? Kahlief “Positivity Peddler” Adams? Why don’t you just ask Colt Eastward too if all you want is a sycophantic response. It was a good showcase, but some of these guys are complete shills.
I visit this site multiple times a day but didn’t even know there was an event.
It was decent.
If that's the best they have for us to look forward to then YIKES!
Looks like things are going to be a bit lean for me when it comes to new games I am excited to play day one both first & third party wise (on both Xbox & PlayStation.)
@IOI the good thing is pretty much everything shown was multi platform and none of it is MS studio stuff so they are good on that front!
I honestly thought the one in March was better. I’m not sure where the excitement is for this one. Alan Wake DLC was the only thing that I’m for sure buying out of the batch… well, the only thing I already bought too…
Solid B, but nothing was I need to play this ASAP besides the Alan Wake 2 DLC.
I think the 'need to play' games are already taking so long to come out they don't have their hype hardly anymore on the Xbox side. They seem to drag out too long in wait they need really good preview right before release like Flight Sim 2024 is attempting but falling a bit short with right now.
Indy, Avowed, and Flight Sim 2024 the ones now until 2nd half 2025 from Microsoft internal.
Sucks I was hyped for them but could care less for any of those now would rather have Doom Dark Age, Clockwork Revolution, South of Midnight, Perfect Dark or Gears E-Day.
I'll just have to get by on my backlog with Stalker 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, and hopefully Wuchang FF by the first few months of 2025.
For what a partner preview is, I think it was the best it can be. The point was to showcase Xbox third party support and tie some of these games to an Xbox event with a trailer. I'm just stuck on how surreal it is that Edens Zero (I remember when that Manga first started (never got into it myself)) got it's video game first announced at an Xbox event.
In general I like how loud it's been. In previous years information has been a drought after the Xbox Games Showcase in June. This year we got the biggest Gamescon booth ever, a nice TGS live stream (though I went in person and it'd be best if Xbox had a physical presence on the floor their during the days it's open to the public), and now a great partner preview. It's great. I don't suspect that we'll get anything in November, but we might get something for "a" studio during The Game Awards in December and either way we have the Developer Direct in January. In the ideal situation that'd mean we'd have only 2 months following June without some type of showcase or direct. Xbox marketing still needs to go harder, but that's a definite improvement.
@kuu_nousee right now for me it's Metaphor, Darksiders 2 (so happy it got a free update), Hades 2 early access Olympus update, and Towerborne Early Access with the first two being Xbox and last two being steam (though I'm playing everything but Darksiders on my Lenovo Legion Go on my bed 😆).
Really I don't think I'll ever ever complain about not having enough new games. My backlog has always been massive and I have an awful track record of finishing games. Now more than ever since I graduated, started my full time job, am taking care of all my daily necessities, and going out with friends or exploring on the weekends. I have maybe a couple of hours to game a day and most days I'm so tired for work I just want to fall asleep immediately. My saddest moment was not being able to finish the Metaphor demo before the full game launched 😭 (I did finish it anyway before transferring my save file over because I was worried there's be a problem, but I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly it just transfered everything over, including my multiple save files).
I thought it was ok. Lake house and chronos looked great, the rest was ok. I do like the format though. Less talking more games.
@WildConcept6 Welcome to adulthood lol
My first backlog came up in the 00's after college. Then it grew massively with kids and promotions.
Now I have 1000+ games across generations of consoles and Ive beaten like 1% of them.
Currently have about 20 I bought and dont have time for, and several i want to get and play but refuse to until I can reduce that number to 5 or so.
Im actually looking forward to retirement in 20 years or so for more gaming time
