Microsoft has released a new "home experience" today for the Xbox app on Windows and it's available now to Xbox Insiders.
The team has listened to feedback and has been testing different designs, it's now used this to create a unified Home UI experience - combining the best content from Game Pass and the Microsoft Store.
These updates include featured content, deals and discounts, curated collections and recommendations, and the ability to "jump back in" to a game. You can find out more about this on Xbox Wire.
If you aren't part of Xbox's Insider Program and want to get involved, you can join the program today by downloading the Insider hub on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One or a Windows PC.
In some related news, Microsoft has also released new some features for Xbox Alpha Insiders - adding new options for uploading and editing custom gamerpics:
Have you made use of the Xbox app on Windows before? Let us know in the comments.

That looks less like an App Page and more like the actual Store Page.
I do use the Xbox app but it's had problems for years. I made the mistake of wanting to install Halo MCC once, and for the next three years the Xbox app repeatedly tried to force install if I had the AUDACITY to uninstall, or notify me of DLC it wasnt installing for some reason. No matter what I tried the app was hellbent on ensuring that, no, you WILL have Halo installed. I dread to think of how much SSD life that shredded.
I sure hope these improvements aren't just UI related.
So still nowhere near as good as Steam.
Even the console UI has gone backwards hugely from the days when we could actually customise the home screen
If anything the should make the interface just like the XBox one so it is fully controller friendly for the big screen. At least that is what I would do especially if you want a more living room friendly PC gaming experience. Just like Steams big picture mode is a far better user experience only with a controller.
If Microsoft spent as much time on games as they do changing the Xbox home page, no game would ever have a release date pushed back and twice as many first party games would be out.
