While we wait for Microsoft to reveal details on the Xbox handheld that's seemingly in the works, one Xbox fan has took it upon themselves to make a custom device based on the original console - and it looks incredible at first glance!
This Xbox fan goes by the name of Redherring32 on social media, and as mentioned alongside the video below, their custom handheld includes a real OG Xbox motherboard - meaning it's fully compatible with the entire library of games from that console. It also includes a USB-C port, Wi-Fi 6 for use with Insignia, and much more!
The OP goes into more detail on Twitter about how they built the device, which included a four-month process of figuring out how to trim the Xbox motherboard, while also designing 12 fully custom PCBs for it. They've since published their discoveries online, meaning anyone could technically make a handheld for themselves if they wanted to.
We're talking a very complex and expensive process though, and they've already mentioned how they don't intend to build another - in other words, they won't be selling any of these. That's probably for the best considering Microsoft wouldn't be very happy about it, but it's definitely cool to witness it from afar!
