We'll admit, until we took a glance at the Xbox charts earlier today, we'd never heard of Survival: Fountain of Youth. It's clearly proving popular already though, as it's in the "Top Paid" section for both the UK and US as things stand.
The game first launched on PC earlier this year, and on Steam it has a "Very Positive" overall rating. It's described as a "challenging single-player open-world adventure game" in which your goal is to "master the art of survival" by crafting tools, building shelters, battling predators, hunting prey and more. Basically, it's your typical survival game!
Now, there's a bit of good news and a bit of bad news about the Xbox version. The good news is that you can try it for free with no catches whatsoever by navigating to the Survival: Fountain of Youth page on the Xbox Store, but the bad news is that it's apparently in a bit of a state right now when it comes to bugs.
Although it has a 3.5/5 rating on the Xbox Store (US) as things stand, a lot of the "most helpful" reviews talk about these problems extensively, which include a lot of freezing and crashing. Presumably these problems will be fixed in time, but for now they seem to be spoiling the enjoyment for some on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Anyway, if you're interested, that free trial is available - and we'll throw more details about it down below.
"Survival: Fountain of Youth is a challenging single-player open-world adventure game set on the Caribbean islands. Survive as a shipwrecked 16th-century explorer, craft tools and shelter, and uncover the secrets of both an ancient civilization and your own fate."
