Xbox developer Turn 10 has revealed its plans for Forza Motorsport Update 13, which arrives in and around the game's one year anniversary. This is a pretty chunky update for the team's latest Forza title, with a new mode, new track, three free cars and more coming to players next week.
Forza Motorsport Update 13 will arrive on Monday, October 14th, free for all players - and on Xbox Game Pass of course. Here are the big new additions:
• New mode: Drift Mode
• New track: Sunset Peninsula
• New options for Practice and Qualifying in Private Multiplayer races
• 3 new, free cars: 2024 Ford #25 Mustang RTR, 2024 Ford #88 Mustang RTR and 2024 Ford #130 Mustang RTR
• Additional upgrades for Forza Race Regulations
To mark the game's anniversary, the team has also detailed some interesting stats about what the Forza Motorsport community has been up to in-game since last October. More than 150 million races have gone down, with the Kyalami grand prix circuit and the 2020 Honda #73 LA Honda World Racing Civic coming out as your most-played tracks and cars, respectively.
Back at launch, about a year ago, we enjoyed our time with the base game even if it felt like a 'platform' for the future - where more content and features would eventually arrive. Those bits and pieces are coming to game, slowly, and we hope that Turn 10 really kicks into gear during Forza Motorsport year two.
Are we still enjoying FM these days? Tell us what you think to the game, one year in, down below.

I really like this game, I put 100 plus hours into since launch, but I often find empty multiplayer races.
I still enjoy this game but really wish the driving standards in multiplayer were better. It is usually a complete ***** show with folks racing like they are the only ones on the track and just pushing you out of the way if you happen to be in front.
I am looking forward to Mount Panorama being added in December (assuming no delays) but dread trying it in multiplayer.
I only bought this game last week. This is a nice surprise.
I really want to stay interested in FM but man they gotta start putting in some of the more scenic creative tracks. These flat licensed tracks all start to look the same after a while. FM has had some truly fantastic tracks in the past and I'm still waiting for them to get added to this one.
Good news and slowly improving with each update - nice weather options added in the last one. Still plenty of tracks ‘missing’. I’d like to see Rio make a comeback in a future update.
Should do a split screen mode on it
@RiverGenie Exactly! Up until edition before this one, I always bought day one collector editions if they put one out. But the multiplayer alone has me completely turned off from playing forza motorsport anymore. It is just a mess and turn 10 not even seem to care how bad it is.
They need to make stiffer penalties and even permanently banning people that just go out there and ruin everyone's racing experience.
Having a Sim lobby would be really good first step. Making things mandatory such as in cockpit view, etc.
This is probably my favourite racing game, despite some of the legitimate negative feedback that we’ve all seen, since launch. The developers have really improved the way the game works, and the driving is so much fun - and all there to be enjoyed right from the off.
I’m actually a big fan of the car-p-g system, and have enjoyed levelling up my favourite cars to level 50; it makes jumping into random races very rewarding, and I’ve spent so many hours just perfecting my laps in time trials. Despite not having anything like the depth that GT7 has, I just find it so much more fun to jump into FM; it’s much more accessible and for me, it’s a clear winner. I hope they keep releasing more and more of these big updates, Turn 10 have been doing a great job.
I still regularly play this, mostly for the monthly open tour class races. I wish they’d mix things up a bit though, lately almost every race has been dry and sunny 🙄 I’m looking forward to Sunset Peninsula though - I used to like this track and haven’t raced on it in quite some time.
The multiplayer experience is the real downfall of this game. After getting taken out in nearly every race by idiots and ending up in matched lobbies with idiots due to losing safety points, I generally don't bother with it any more.
However the drift element will bring a new dimension to the game and after playing rivals for the last year... I'm in the top 10 on some tracks! So it's not all bad. Love the physics, the tracks look awesome... But mp, just sucks ass!
As I’ve said multiple times, I've enjoyed the game. But removing content from the career is just pathetic. When we will be free from these manipulators that instead of game design think in terms of addiction exploitation we will have great AAA games again.
Well I guess they're finally making this more like the game it should have always been. What a mess it's been though, terrible launch and I am still not a fan of the always-online requirement. Yeah you can technically play it offline but in doing so you are basically playing a bare basics demo version of the game without any of the cars you bought and customized.
Nice, Drift Mode is back and if you have the Premium Add-Ons Bundle, you will have access to a fourth free car, the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse!
The studio doesn't know how to treat the game like a service. They'll pump another one out rather than taking advantage of the existing base with a constant stream of content & exciting seasonal events.
It's been a while I played it. There a too many great games to play.
But that update sounds nice, I'm interested in this drift mode.
