Xbox's New 'Standard' Game Pass Tier Is Now Available To Everyone

Today's the day for the new tier of Xbox Game Pass known as Xbox Game Pass Standard! Microsoft has begun rolling out this membership option publicly, giving everyone the ability to sign up at a price of £10.99 / $14.99 per-month.

As mentioned before, the idea behind Xbox Game Pass Standard is to provide online multiplayer access along with a large number of Game Pass titles for a lower price than Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The catch is that you don't get EA Play, you don't get Cloud Gaming, and a whole bunch of newer XGP titles aren't included either.

The library of games is still pretty good though - it includes a full list of 369 titles at launch.

"Are you looking to level up your Xbox console gaming experience at a great value? Then Game Pass Standard may be right for you. In addition to all of the benefits you receive with Game Pass Core, including online console multiplayer and member discounts, you get access to hundreds of high-quality console games in the Game Pass library. Legendary series like Halo or Age of Empires, and massively popular games such as Minecraft, Forza Horizon 5, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege are ready for you to play. Dive in and discover your next favorite game today."

If you're interested in signing up to Xbox Game Pass Standard and you already have an Xbox Game Pass Core membership, any remaining time you have left will be converted at a ratio of 3:2. So, for example, 90 days of Core will convert to 60 days of Standard, which sounds pretty reasonable to us!

Of course, this means that there are now four tiers of Xbox Game Pass that can be subscribed to - you've got PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass Core, Xbox Game Pass Standard and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. We still think the former and the latter offer the best value, but all four have their pros and cons - as shown in the image below.
