During 'The Crew Showcase 2024', Ubisoft made a special announcement regarding existing entries in the series.
Early on in the broadcast, it was mentioned how the company wanted to express its commitment to the "future" of The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest with the team currently "exploring different solutions" to ensure "long-term access to both titles" going forward.
Most notably, there's confirmation of an "offline mode" being added to these games, with future updates to be shared in the coming months.
This follows Ubisoft's decision to delist the original title at the end of last year, with servers for the game also shutting down earlier this year.
In some related news, The Crew 2 is also currently on sale on Xbox for $1.00 USD (or your regional equivalent).
When we learn more, we'll let you know.

That YouTuber and the community that made noise about this for months really made a difference. They may not have been able to change any laws, but they must have had an influence on the behavior of the company itself. Now I feel much more comfortable about owning these games!
Fantastic news!
Still want to play The Crew 1 again though; it’s the best one imo!
P.S. The Crew 2 is currently discounted to $1 / 80p
I hope that maybe they will bring one back as well with an offline mode. Maybe if they can't then maybe a remake? I enjoyed the story of The Crew alot more then it sequel.
Racing car games ain't fun anymore give me mario kart or CTR everyday over any realistic racer nowadays!
Crew 1: Messily shut it down to get people onto Crew 2 due to it's integration with Motorfest.
Crew 2: Sell it for a dollar and commit to giving you an offline experience so your car collection doesn't go to the crusher.
Ubisoft likely made more kudos and goodwill than real money, but that's the currency of the future.
@itsgood2slide Agree! The Crew 1 was fantastic! The newer entries feels like a slightly worse Forza Horizon at best!
@Sveakungen Yeah I always preferred the original to The Crew 2, it just felt more authentic and focused.
Depends what the "offline mode" actually is. Riders Republic offline "zen mode" doesn't have progression and what not.
Thank goodness, I just blindly paid $1 for The Crew 2. That's $1 that could have gone toward an $8 croissant here in NYC.
