Ever since we first locked eyes on Stalker 2 and its atmospheric open world, we've thought it a bit of a graphical showpiece for Xbox - but that doesn't mean that the open-world title isn't going to be running at high frame rates.
As part of Gamescom 2024, GSC Game World has a playable demo for its upcoming shooter, and we're starting to hear good reports on the shape of the game as it nears its November launch. According to John Linemann of Digital Foundry, the game is running at 60FPS on Xbox Series X - and that's the only performance option available.
The DF host also says that the team has both PC and Xbox Series X versions running at the event, with Microsoft's console devkit "pumping out heat" to maintain 60FPS gameplay in Stalker 2. We know that John & co. have plenty of technical knowhow, so we have faith that Stalker 2 will turn out great in this regard.
It's been a long journey for the Ukrainian developer, but the team is working hard to bring Stalker 2 to Xbox Game Pass players on November 20th, 2024.

Some great news for today then.
60fps definitely good new for series x and the game.
Yes that is good news. I can play a game at 30fps but 60fps is so much easier on the eyes and it is a better experience at 60fps.
Looks like that delay has paid dividends. Looking forward to this!
@WhiteRabbit
I have not a clue.
60fps in 120hz mode with VRR on.
Great set for my series x and my tv.
The visuals look spectacular, it will be interesting to see how it performs on S Series.
@WhiteRabbit I believe Pentament in 2022. Which then released on PS5 with a 120fps mode that didn't exist on Xbox. Then after enough complaining they released a patch to add 120fps to Xbox.
And before that was Halo Infinite in 2021.
OMG can’t believe a Xbox next gen only exclusive is launching with 60fps!!! This ***** is actually nuts. But for real though this is great to see. I hope the team has a big hits on their hands and by extension Xbox might actually have consistent big exclusives this fall.
I thought the gunplay and the AI both looked pretty bad in the trailer, all the frames in the world won't fix that, obviously hope that isn't actually the case.
Hope the achievements aren’t grueling or needlessly difficult. The game looks so good that’s pretty much the only thing that would turn me away at this point.
Hopefully the gameplay will be good so FPS is definitely secondary to me🧑🌾
@WhiteRabbit Forget on good news he's never here
@WhiteRabbit Stalker Legends of the Zone was 60 FPS on Series X, weird question.
@Fishmasterflex96 Didn't seem too awful long ago Xbox bragged about ALL new games would be min of 60fps and then..
Good news on Stalker 2, Linneman knows his onions.
I see the trolls have been busy too! Sad little f##kers!
@WhiteRabbit Xbox isn't developing or publishing this game, so what do you mean by launching it? What is the last 60fps game on Xbox hardware?
@WhiteRabbit so like I said, weird question. GSC is launching this game.
