Back in the day, during the Xbox 360 era specifically, Xbox was closely aligned with the Call of Duty series. Microsoft would advertise each release, DLC packs started to come out first on Xbox, and generally speaking, when you thought of COD you thought of the 360. Well, in response to a meme posted on social media, Xbox's Aaron Greenberg hopes that the team can go back to that - with the help of Xbox Game Pass.
You may have seen the meme before — it's basically like a '2010 Xbox starter pack' type deal — and it tugs on the nostalgia strings related to nights in playing Xbox 360 with Black Ops and Halo: Reach. Here's that meme, along with Aaron's response:
It's quite funny to see an Xbox exec respond to something like this, but we're totally here for it to be honest. After years of COD being aligned with PlayStation, and their deal feeling like it started to pull more and more away from Xbox players, we're so ready to go back to the glory days of Xbox x Call of Duty.
And, going back we hopefully shall. Xbox Game Pass should be a massive help in getting the famous FPS series closely aligned with Xbox again, and hopefully it brings some of those OG players back to playing the franchise on Xbox once more - this time without all the silly exclusive content nonsense!
