Microsoft has revealed the second batch of games to leave Xbox Game Pass in August 2024, and we have three titles departing the service in just under two weeks' time. There's a major 2023 release on this list, so if you've been meaning to play that, or any of these Xbox Game Pass titles for that matter, you'll have to get a move on!
Here's what's leaving Xbox Game Pass on August 31:
Date | Game | Platform |
August 31 | Atomic Heart | Console, PC, Cloud |
August 31 | Guilty Gear Strive | Console, PC, Cloud |
August 31 | NBA 2K24 | Console, Cloud |
As usual, you can get a discount of at least 20% on each of these games until they leave Xbox Game Pass in late August, and if you're lucky, they might be reduced even further as part of the Xbox Store sales over the coming days.
It's a shame to be losing these titles, especially Atomic Heart which had a pretty hyped Xbox Game Pass launch, but we should be getting more games confirmed for the service soon - especially with Gamescom right around the corner.

Legit forgot Atomic Heart was still on GP but I gave up after a bug with the ball boss fight required a full restart, I uninstalled played something else came back to the game and
the bug happened again when I reached the fight again.
I wasn't expecting Atomic Hearts to be leaving, but I guess it has been 1-1/2 years. I think if I set aside all all my other games I might be able to get through it in the next two weeks. It's going to be tough though.
@InvaderFromSpace You should have enough time to complete it, and it's recommended if you haven't done it yet, it's a really great game.
Yeah, I enjoyed Atomic Heart so I would recommend. It's not a perfect game, but I thought the environment and world building was excellent and that was enough for me to enjoy.
Also enjoyed what to me felt a slower FPS gameplay rythm during a big part of the game (gains more rythm towards the end), but that maybe its not for everybody.
2 weeks is enough if you can play a couple of horus a day and just focus on it! and more or less the main story. As far as I can remember, I didn't get any big problem / bug type things with it, felt reasonably polished (this is series X)
Not sure if just me, really liked atomic heart, but just quit after the ridiculous increase to difficulty in the game.
Made it where was out in the woods, going in cabins and had fight nonstop walking robots, nonstop flying robots, etc. Lost so much health and died nonstop.
Became frustrated. Said no longer worth my time. Never went back to it.
loved atomic heart not perfect but great world to explore. competed it on release and will buy it at some point
@GuyinPA75 I finished Atomic Heart and really liked it. There were some great boss fights along with puzzle bunkers with great loot.
I will say that I did get stuck in aloop when above ground, killing tons of flying buzzsaw drones. If I spent 30% or more of my playtime killing those things, that would not be surprising. Whack-a-mole can be addicting.
All huge games for GamePass imo for different reasons. Pretty big loss.
Going against the grain here but didn't enjoy atomic heart quit after a couple hours didn't take to the orgasmic vending machine or weird sexualised robots twins never mind the fact it's made by a russian company which might or might not help fund you know what was a bit 💩 for me 👍
Bioshock > Atomic Heart > Bioshock Infinite > Bioshock 2
Only one complaint about the twins or the vending machine! The former was only onscreen for three scenes according to a household member that played The latter got me to drop the knife while on meal prep and pay attention when he ran across the chatty box.
@cardcrusher29 Three scenes to many no my thing
@GuyinPA75 I dropped at the exact same spot, even before the first patch came out. I wasn't sure if that was something that had to be fixed or it was just me. I'm glad I'm not alone
