It feels like it's gone under the radar somewhat over the past few weeks, but we've got a new Xbox first-party release on the way in the near future! Age of Mythology: Retold officially releases for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC on September 4th, 2024, and those who are really keen can actually start playing later this month.

As usual, Xbox is offering a special Premium Upgrade Edition for Age of Mythology: Retold's release, which gives Xbox Game Pass members early access from August 28th along with a few extra in-game bonuses. It retails for just £19.99 / $24.99 on the Xbox Store, although keep in mind that you don't get to own the full game itself this way.

In terms of the game itself, Age of Mythology: Retold is essentially a reimagining of the classic 2002 strategy title, blending the "best elements" of that experience with "modern real-time strategy design and visuals".

"From the creators of the award-winning Age of Empires franchise, Age of Mythology: Retold goes beyond history to a mythical age where gods, monsters, and humans collide. Combining the best elements of the beloved Age of Mythology with modern real-time strategy design and visuals, Retold is an epic and innovative experience for old and new players alike. Secure your domain, command legendary monsters, and call upon the power of the gods to crush your enemies."

Everything we've seen of this game so far suggests it's going to be an excellent addition to the Xbox and PC Game Pass libraries, but how do you feel about it? Have you been waiting 22 years for this?! Tell us in the poll and comments.
