Star Wars Outlaws is officially available right now on Xbox, but if you want to start playing it ahead of its standard release this Friday, your only option is the Ultimate Edition - which retails for a massive £120 / $130 on the Xbox Store.

Let's be honest, that's pretty crazy - but there is another option in the form of Ubisoft+. For £14.99 / $17.99 per-month, you can get access to the Ultimate Edition along with countless other Ubisoft games, so it's a good alternative if you think you can complete Outlaws quickly! The problem? It's had a bit of a turbulent launch on there so far.

Basically, Star Wars Outlaws isn't showing up in the list of Ubisoft+ games on Xbox as things stand, and even browsing the Xbox Store and downloading it from there doesn't seem to work properly for us. The way we did it was by using the Xbox mobile app to download the game remotely, and then start playing it from there.

Here's the method that we used to get Star Wars Outlaws working with Ubisoft+ on Xbox:

  1. Sign up to Ubisoft+ via the "Subscriptions" tab of the Microsoft Store app
  2. Use the Xbox mobile app (not the Game Pass one) to download Star Wars Outlaws to your console
  3. When the download has finished, the game should load up when you select it

As for the in-game content that's included with the Ultimate Edition, we're having trouble accessing that right now. Everything should show up as intended in the near future, but clearly there are still some issues to be worked out.

Another thing to mention is that if you only want one month of Ubisoft+, it's worth going over to your subscription settings and turning off recurring billing straight away. You can do this directly via your console, and it'll save you getting an unexpected payment next month if you end up forgetting about what you signed up for!

So yeah, even though it's been a rocky start with Star Wars Outlaws on Ubisoft+ for Xbox users, the good news is that it does work - at least in our experience. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're heading back to a galaxy far, far away...
