We're always looking for new ways of earning Microsoft Rewards points here at Pure Xbox, especially considering it's been a rough 12 months for the service and the amount of points you can earn per-month has decreased significantly.
So, we wanted to bring to your attention a potential new method of earning points via "reading Outlook emails", which has been identified by an eagle-eyed Microsoft Rewards user in the US this week. Here's a look:
As things stand, it seems like barely anyone has been given access to this new feature (we only found one other person who had it), but presumably it'll be rolling out for the masses in the near future. Here's the official description:
"Use Outlook.com on your mobile browser and earn a bonus of up to 1000 rewards points. Read three Outlook emails each day and earn bonus points daily, weekly, and beyond. To earn the bonus rewards points, go to your mobile device, log into outlook.com on the mobile browser, and navigate to the rewards mini app to see the full offer."
As indicated above, we don't expect this feature to be available directly via Xbox... instead, you'll probably have to access it via the Bing homepage on a browser, where you can hit the Rewards icon and look for the "Daily Streaks" section. For what it's worth, we're not seeing this new Outlook feature on there at the time of writing either.
Also, the problem right now is that it's apparently not working well — those who have been given access aren't getting it to register — which again suggests that it's probably being displayed too early and will roll out to more people soon.
In any case, we wanted to bring this new feature to the attention of all the Microsoft Rewards die-hards out there so you can keep your eyes peeled for this potential new method of earning points. It all adds up in the long run!
