Thought that Sea Of Thieves going multiplatform would slow down Rare, eh? Not a chance! The team has stuck to its regular update cadence with the arrival of Sea of Thieves Season 13, which is now live on Xbox, PS5 and PC.

In this first post-launch season for PS5 players (Season 12 was packed into the PlayStation release), Rare is adding lots of new goodies to the mix - and some returning favourites as well; like the comeback of "the fearsome Captain Flameheart".

"The fearsome Captain Flameheart has returned to the Sea of Thieves! Done with lying low after his long-awaited resurrection, this infamous warmonger has now taken his rightful place in The Reaper’s Hideout to kick off Season 13. He’s also brought his monstrous flagship, the Burning Blade, and initiated a hunt for lost knowledge in Ancient Temples deep below ground…

Blasting onto the scene on July 25th, the latest Season also refreshes everyone’s Renown track with 100 new levels to climb and corresponding rewards to be earned by completing daring deeds out on the waves.

The update is available now and free for all players – just make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the game and you’ll be ready to face the Burning Blade the next time you set sail!"

This new Season for Sea of Thieves comes off the back of some fantastic success for the game since its multiplatform launch. Rare's pirate adventure has charted on PS5 in April, May and June - and we wouldn't be surprised to see it claim a high spot in July's rankings as well!
