It's always around this time of the year that 2K unveils its next basketball release, and we've been treated to it today in the form of NBA 2K25, which arrives for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on September 6, 2024.
Pre-orders are already live on the Xbox Store, with prices ranging from £69.99 / $69.99 (for the Standard Edition) to £129.99 / $149.99 (for the All-Star Edition), and the cover art for each version has been revealed as well:
As for what to expect, the Xbox Series X|S version of NBA 2K25 is promising the "most authentic NBA experience to date" thanks to its continued use of ProPLAY technology, while the MyCAREER this year will see you honour NBA legends across an all-new City location complete with new venues. We'll throw more details down below.
Don't forget that NBA 2K24 is already part of Xbox Game Pass at the time of writing, but it's set to disappear in late August. In other words, it doesn't look like it'll be available on the service by the time NBA 2K25 comes out. For those who want to keep the game permanently, it's currently benefiting from a huge 90% discount on Xbox.
"With NBA 2K25, players will forge a dynasty in MyCAREER, compete in new MyTEAM modes, and, for those on New-Gen platforms, players will also experience an added sixth era in MyNBA, a more compact and interactive City, along with the chance to cement their G.O.A.T. status in The W. In addition to new updates in MyCAREER and MyTEAM, players on Current-Gen will experience an all new Neighborhood metropolis to explore where they will complete quests, earn rewards and eclipse their rivals."
"Honor NBA legends in MyCAREER as you eclipse their milestone achievements and usher in the greatest dynasty the sport has ever seen. The City on Xbox Series X|S is the ultimate proving ground; hit the park for some competitive streetball fun and compete at various new venues. Or dominate in the new Neighborhood on Xbox One as you complete quests, earn rewards and eclipse your Rivals in new and returning game modes."
