Crash Bandicoot Artist Talks Cancelled 'Crash 5' Project From Toys For Bob

We all know that the wait for Crash 4 was an agonising one - after all, the team even referenced the 20+ year gap since Crash 3 with their 'It's About Time' subtitle for the game. Since then, we've seen Crash Team Rumble release as a spin-off, but the wait for 'Crash 5' could turn out to be another long one.

Taking to social media, ex-Toys for Bob artist Nicholas Kole has spoken about the apparently cancelled Crash Bandicoot 5. Kole claims that "some day folks will hear about the Crash 5 that never was" - going on to say that the project was ultimately cancelled alongside something else the artist was working on at a different developer.

There's not much detail here of course, but even just a mention of Crash 5 is interesting, if also a little heartbreaking considering whatever was in the works seems to have been cancelled. That's not to say that more Crash in some form isn't coming though - Kole is now at developer Phoenix Labs and likely isn't in the know about Crash plans anymore.

We also know that Toys for Bob is now an independent developer working on something with Microsoft - but what that something is remains to be seen. It'd be nice to see more Crash from the team, or maybe even a return to Spyro, but who knows at this point!
