Following a rumour earlier this week, Microsoft has now officially confirmed Mafia: Definitive Edition is on its way to the Xbox Game Pass library next month on 13th August.
It will be available via the cloud, console and also PC. This information was first shared by the well-known leaker eXtas1s, who also recently claimed Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy would be coming to Game Pass and also revealed the Game Pass release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Mafia: Definitive Edition made its debut on the Xbox One in 2020 and is a remake of the 2002 title. It thrusts a regular cab driver named Tommy Angelo into the deadly world of organised crime, where the rewards become too big to ignore.
Mafia: Definitive Edition (Xbox Series X|S, PC, Cloud) - August 13
"Re-made from the ground up, Mafia: Definitive Edition offers a faithful remake of the original's acclaimed story with dramatically improved and expanded visuals and gameplay."

Great game, anyone who hasn't played it, now has no excuse.
I hope the Gamepass PC version has Xbox achievements, I would be happy to play it again.
The original was phenomenal. This one not so much.
Love the Mafia series and I am waiting for Mafia 4. Probably will do a playhrough of this again.
@luke88 Why not it looks amazing fixes loads from the original why is the game bad I loved it
@Ricky-Spanish for me replaying Mafia after almost 18 years since the initial release was a pleasant experience, but they've changed many things — music, cutscenes, episodes' parts, even characters and their motivation. If you are unfamiliar with the original game, you'd probably have some awesome time, but otherwise these changes might spoil the memories and overall impression.
@Tomato_Goose I couldn't get past the race part on the original game the car had horrible handling but for me the remake fleshes out the story a bit more it all makes more sense it looks stunning and I could actually complete the race in this one aswell great success 👏🤺
@Ricky-Spanish sure, no problems with that — people are different, so are the games they play and the games they like. Mafia remake is decent overall, my point was that some people may dislike all the changes
I've never played any Mafia games, so this feels like something I'll definitely try out. Time and backlog permitting...
